Deepika's movie wasn't a hindi movie though. And her movie had a chinese star named Kris wu, who is pretty famous up and coming movie star in china.

Proud of Aamir! What he does so well is that he tackles the contemporary topics that normal people can relate to in his movies. So, I'm definitely not surprised that he does so well there, I think China is quite lacking in good contemporary movies. They do well in the historical and fantasy genre though, so movies like bahubali didn't work there so well because they already have a huge movie and tv market for fantasy movies and tv shows. So, Aamir's movies fit right into the contemporary/societal issues/family movie market they are lacking in over there.
