@ bold : looking at the way they are acting now, its clear both moves were for attention...waise nahi toh aise hi sahi... as for Padmavat's cast not speaking, DP did speak and it aggravated the matter, also RS said that he is asked by the Producers to not say anything, If jealous people cant understand this much and keep blaming them to keep mum, then that show their IQ level.
Agreeing or not is her matter of choice, but when you speak about something, people will accept you to practice too... She herself has starred in Films which promotes wrong thing, Ranjhana being one of them... If she still thinks so highly about women's issue, then more the Jauhar n Sati, its psycho stalkers which are the main issue prevalent in current society, why doesn't she speak on that... That shows her hypocrite nature... I am sure that had it been her in Padmavati's character, both Swara n Sonam herself wouldve gone gaga over Padmavati's strength valor and bravery.
I'm not not a mind-reader so I don't know what they are thinking. So no! What they are thinking isn't clear.
Do provide the link of Deepika standing up for her movie. I haven't stumbled upon it. What I got though was the deafening silence of the team toward the controversy.
Sonam seems to have great respect for SLB. She was one of the first person to tweet when he was molested during the shoot and again she was one of the only person to talk about the controversy surrounding his film.
If you think she HAD to do it because he launched her then why didn't the other people he has previously worked with talk up? I'll tell you why, they have no obligation to meddle in an issue that is hardly any of their business (rightly or wrongly so). If Sonam spoke up, it's because she wanted to.
Even if it's make an hypocrite out of her, having the freedom to speak up about an issue and to share one's view is a right especially when it's not particularly offensive.
Some people sensibilities were rattled by that scene, others weren't... not everyone lives the same experience in the same way and not everyone will choose not to express its view.
Swara has a plateform to talk and, as Sonam, she's always used it,
Lmao, Raanjhanaa is your only example, you've only written what you read somewhere else.
FYI, Raanjhanaa hasn't been promoted as a movie promoting stalking and wa it really stalking when they were schoolkids who didn't hang out much with the opposite sex? He followed her around but she kept on slapping him to show her refusal. She's never fallen in love with her "stalker".
Also, Zoya, is a very grey character. She basked in his admiration and ended up liking it ; not him. Later when they meet again, she hardly recognizes him when all he could think about was her... And she uses that admiration once again for her own benefit.
Kundan wasn't a eve teaser so your point is moot.
This movie was quite realistic imo. It was a role one couldn't pass up.
You say she has never spoken about eve teasing... but Sonam did. You might not read her interviews so that's why you wouldn't know and just assume she's an hypocrite.
It's better to be seen as an hypocrite or a dumb person and voice ones opinion than to keep quite when you're on the first line waiting for others to stand up for you...
@bold really cracked me up coming from you. Don't worry about my IQ but about yours. Thank you very much. Tchiip
