Exposed BJP MLA on Padmavat row: 'We have to side with the Rajput

The row is not about the film at all,it is political

Mumbai: Chief whip of BJP in Maharashtra, and a top leader of the state, said candidly in a sting operation that
"the row about Padmavati is not about the film at all, it is about politics. BJP will benefit...( in coming Rajasthan elections)... let a few buses burn; it is good if they burn.

"BJP has no choice. Majboori hai. We are in Right wing, we have to side with Rajputs.

He also went on to say patronizingly who are these Karni Sena leaders? Who knows them? Do they have even one MLA?

See, ultimately, they will go to BJP. The reason is that somehow it is a part of activities that are religious. It goes with the right wing approach & the right wing approach is BJP, says stung Raj Purohit, BJP MLA & chief whip in Maharashtra.

Just some days ago, this Tall' BJP leader was taking credit for uniting both factions of Karni Sena together on one stage in Azad Maidan.

Arnab Goswami followed up the sting operation with inviting Raj Purohit to take part in a live debate without the gentleman knowing that he had been stinged and the sting operation would be shown in his presence.

However shabby the whole show may be, Arnab Goswami had a scoop on his hands.

Raj Purohit was put in the awkward position of defending his bindas quotes' and trying to match them with the bravado and bluster he has been displaying right from the time the Padmavati row began.

A School bus was stoned today and little kids taken hostage by goons fighting to prevent the film from being released despite Supreme Court's directive that states cannot ban the film from being shown and will be duty bound to protect the theatres and movie goers.

This Maharashtra BJP leader has been so engrossed and embroiled in the Rajasthan, M.P. happenings of Padmavati that he even threatened to slap Shashi Tharoor over it.

Purohit said, "I will not slap Bhansali. But, I am more upset with Shashi Tharoor. He had no business talking about Rajputs and Padmavati film issue. But, the man who has killed his wife using a poison which no one has been able to detect, is telling us that we did not fight the Britishers? Did his father do it then?

Looks like finally Purohit's tongue has got the better of him.

He has spilled the beans about why this issue has been allowed to become so big.

Rajputs in my opinion have to be among the worst warrior clan in history.

Rajputs have never won a single war without outside help! They routinely married off their daughters to enemy Kings in order to save their necks. They have constantly bickered and fought among themselves since ages and do so even today.

Really at a loss to see what pride and honor they are talking about!

The Sikhs, Maratha's, Coorgi's and Gurkha's have had a far more outstanding reputation as warriors in Indian History than these so-called, over-rated Rajputs.

Had the Rajput's really been the brave warriors they think themselves to be, their women folk would never have had to perform mass suicide in order to save their honor. The men would have fought wars, won them and protected the women themselves.

All this agitation and show of aggression by the Karni Sena and the Rajputs is nothing but a way of saving their faces.

If Bhansali is culpable of distorting history, it is because he has wrongly projected Rajputs as being brave and honorable, when history tells us an entirely different story.

The main problem seems to be depiction of an incident in history where a Muslim invader beat a Rajput king. These days under Raje Rajputs are out to change even historical events in text books that happened which shows them losing. I am sure if this film was about a Rajput king beating a Muslim invader/king the reaction would have been different with no one having a problem with Ghoomar or anything else.

Whatever one might say about the Muslim Kings, fact is that they were not just outstanding warriors on the battleground, but had excellent tactical knowledge as well. There is a reason, why only India is the only country in the world that was invaded and ruled by foreign powers for hundreds of years. There is no other country in the world that has been under foreign rule for as long as India did. Look at China, just next door to us and as endowed with riches as India was. Except for a very short occupation by the British and the Japanese, the Chinese have never lived under foreign occupation.

I think its high time, that we Indians all get down from our high horse and accept things as they are. Had our respectable Hindu rulers been all that good, they would have protected the country from invaders long back.

Khilji defeated Ratan Singh fair and square and that is a historical fact. No amount of noise and violence from Karni Sena can wipe out this truth from history. Just because we have a right-wing government now does not mean that one can simply change the history of a nation and pretend that things that really happened did not happen at all!

The main reason India was invaded was cause it had lots to offer in terms of gold n other precious gems. Ever heard the name 'Sone ke Chidiya' thats what India was, and all these invaders primarily came for that, unfortunately our people werent shrewd enough to defend it and thats why we are the 3rd world country now.

Its high time we stop insulting our own country and keep praising everything that's foreign.
