bollywood shall always be sexiest...the director of amazing blockbuster nagarjule had said that he casted Rinku in SAIRAT...on the fact to break bollywood stereotypes and esp how women are treated as props, fair skin with 0 size figure in love stories...the film opened and became a blockbuster but our nepotism guru KARAN JOHAR...did exactly the same thing by launching a fair thin sized wannabe debutantant as a female lead in DHADAK which is remake of Sairat. Come to think of it, this is so wrong on Rinku's part...she would be reprising her role in 4 languages..kannada she has already done, but when it comes to hindi we give her a royal ignore...even when comparing the beauty..how is Jhanvi more beautiful than Rinku..this is just sexism n racism. Rinku's more beautiful when she lives the part in the film and playing a much elder character..she's just a child. MS JHANVI has a lot of challenge to match rinku's histronics...but i really wish if bollywood had been decent and made a breakthrough by launching a real actress instead of a barbie doll which this industry is known for...
also Akash Thosar the main lead of Dhadak is more handsome than IShaan khattar by a distance..sure he's not groomed like shahid's younger brother as he works in regional cinema...but if you give me the bollywood facilities..he can easily outshine many youngsters...hindi cinema needs to open to regional cinemas...SAIRAT is a bang for ur buck.. literary..

the only silver lining of Dhadak is director shashank because he knows how to deliver a blockbuster.

i agree with u on this...
I usually do not watch regional cinema but after Sairat my views have changed..

the reason I could watch Sairat because it became such of a rage..

I watched in a theater and i was spellbound..the scene where they both fight on the road gave me goosebumps.

also the ending broke my heart..

Its too early to comment on jhanvi's acting skills but I too agree that Rinku should be given a good chance for a bollywood debut..she is such a fantastic actress with no formal training wow...and akash is my crush. I want him to do more movies.. he should be given a great bollywood project as well.

Fans of Sairat shall be waiting for Dhadak to see if it lives up to Sairat's excellence.

I get why Karan supports nepotism. He lived in this industry all his life and all these people are either his family or close friends. They are all doing favours to each other all the time.

But why can't you also support outsiders and give them fair chances on merit? Why only support star kids?

I wouldn't have problem with Karan if he struck a balance.

Jhanvi aur Ishaan ke paas maa hain so the rest of aspiring actors should shut up! As for matching upto Rinku/Akash its no big deal. Who decides if someone has met expectations in terms of acting? Its mainly the critics. KJo has the main critics like Masand, Anupama, Raja Sen in his payroll. They will give favorable reviews and the other critics will echo the same. Just look at how he got entire India convinced mediocre Alia performances like UP, Highway were award worthy.
As for BO...again big PHs like Dharma can easily control the marketing and number of screens allocated with high scoring screens being allocated to their films. Even if KJo slacks Jhanvi's father is a producer and knows ins and outs of distribution. Just compare this to how small films get screenings. A certain amount will certainly be collected and with low costs they will make a neat profit and the film will be declared a hit. Only case the film will fail if its a total disaster like Harsh's debut.

I have a feeling even if Jhanvi doesn't do well, she will get tons of chances for other films.

I think KJo supports nepotism as it gives him power over rest of BW. Earlier his power used to stem from closeness to SRK but now its because he gives these opportunities to newcomers/yet to make it starkids. Everyday there is a new blind how every BW mama/papa is trying to get their kids to catch his eye. KJo has always been power crazy more than anything else.

If people can give Alia 100 benefit of doubts and chances then I'm sorry Jhanvi deserves the same as well!

Janhvi Kapoor deserves more credit than she gets. Yes, she comes from a film family, but what stands out about her is how hard she tries to grow...
