Im pretty sure I have heard her speak in Hindi. She sometimes repeats movie dialogues in her reviews and I dont see a language problem lol

Meddlesome man. What is this weird condescension to learn a language she is not comfortable with!! UGH. Should we tell Sr to now start acting in Tamil/Telegu/Kannada. After all, These are Indian languages too which he should be well-versed in being an Indian citizen & an extremely prominent member of society. Or chaste Urdu! God these unwanted comments & controlling criticism makes me LIVID!!!

To review Hindi films, learning Hindi is not necessary otherwise Hindi film reviews should not be published in English newspapers/publications.

Of course, she knows Hindi. She just does not know Big B level Hindi (deviyon aur sajjano level). She conducts her interviews, does her reviews, writes books in English. If I am not wrong, her mother was the writer on many Hindi films. Don't know what Big B's problem is.

Her Hindi is good. It's just that she does her work in English like masand.

As long as both are good at work, what's the problem?

I guess she has always worked for English language magazines or channels , so how does her Hindi speaking skills matter ? Anyway, till she she can understand and comprehend Hindi movie dialogues, I don't see how her Hindi fluency matters.

The last I heard being a film critic required an appreciation of films, not mastery over any language. I watch movies in languages I don't speak. I can still appreciate the performances, the art, and the technique. I can still talk at length about it in the languages I am comfortable in.

who cares if she speaks in Hindi or English...she is not a BW actress...i understand when people crib about Kat...but for a critic?? seriously Big B?? Too much importance is given to languages which are just a means to communicate...Anupama's target audience is mostly people who understand English well...so how does it even matter if she doesn't know Hindi.
