So, Neil Khanna gives it back to Vidyut for daring to even paint his wife, by cutting his own finger and filling it as vermilion on Avni's painting.
He warns Vidyut, that from now, every time you even dare to look at her, you will know that she is someone else's wife!
Vidyut glares as he accepts that challenge.
Neil goes in dreamy mode as he watches Avni paint the wall of his cabin, which we all had speculated, was a damage aggravated by Neil himself.
You can't help but feel your heart ache for Avni, as she keeps up with Neil's orders, but taunts him whenever possible nonetheless.
Dil diya gallan (beautiful track) plays, as Neil dreams about going close to Avni, hugging her, as he whispers a sorry too in that dream.
In reality, you see an urgency on his face the moment he sees Avni about to slip from the ladder, and goes and catches her in his arms.
Their intimacy is palpable, as they yearn for each other from the core of their hearts but cannot do anything having their own agendas.
She taunts him by saying, you would be loving the sight of me in this condition isn't it?
I hope you sleep well at night, after breaking someone's heart.
Neil recalls how he sleeps on the floor at nights.
Both are verbally rude, as Neil begins, ''Do your work and don't even bring our personal conversations here, for, jo bhi tha...''
And Avni completes by saying, ''Jo tha, wo sab khatam ho gaya aur dobara kabhi nahi hoga!''
You see the disappointment on Neil's face, but you can't help it.
Avni taunts him by saying, ''You don't even have a heart!''
And that was the final nail in the coffin for Neil as he fumes hearing that allegation and pulls her in a jiffy, placing her hand on his heart, as he says, ''Jaanti ho aaj bhi ye dil kiske liye dhadakta hai?''
They are about to kiss, losing it to the heat of the moment, but like old times, DD's call interrupts them.
The tunnel has been closed.
Avni eyes the prison blueprint file, and goes out, but she wonders, ''What if there's more to Neil's behavior? That I can't see?''
But that little doubt is washed away the moment she sees the tunnel channel from her cell has been closed, with a sarcastic message on a note from Neil, saying now Goddess Durga's poster is in the right direction, which is, on a different wall.
You ache for Avni as she sulks over every effort of hers in last 6 months going in vain, and cites Neil's intimate advances from moments ago and words to be hoax
just like the sake of those activities, to keep her away from the cell.
Vidyut now has data of all of Avni's prison in-mates, as he sits and discusses with Ballu (funny scene) and he chooses Monica to be his sidekick to make sure Neil and Avni stay apart, because in his words, ''Avni meri hai!''
What makes this scene funny is, Vidyut making Ballu sing, Jingle Bells 😆 conveying he will disguise himself and meet Monica in the jail!
The sindoor scene happens, wherein Tara Sitara's handmade sindoor goes flying in the air to Neil's grasp and from thereon into Avni's parting.
She is instantly reminded of the day when Neil wiped off her sindoor, and he knows it too.
He says, ''Janta hun tumhe wo din yaad aa gaya. 6 mahine pehle.. Avni, wo din meri zindagi ka sabse manhoos din tha.. par main kya karta'' (To this I can only say, Neil beta, wo drama karne ki zarurat tumhe bilkul bhi nahi thi! TRP aunties k bojh se fandom ko upset kar diya!)
Anyway, Avni taunts him saying, all this sindoor, mangalsutra are ''bakwas!'' and just the patriarchy's weapon to dominate women. She goes away!
Our evergreen AvNeil shipper DD comes to Neil in his cabin and says, you need to do something for Bhabhi instead of sitting here like Devdas!''
Loved the Neil-DD banter though short, after so long!
DD suggests a Christmas party and Neil gets excited thinking, this will be a good idea for 2 reasons. 1. It would keep Avni distracted from thinking of running away from jail and 2. When she would see my gift, she would smile, and that's all I want to see..
Well, Neil, hate it to break it to you, but you seem quite lenient about yourself after everything you are doing to Avni to even think she will merrily accept your gift.
And the glimpse of that we see in the precap, wherein, in front of everyone, Avni shouts at Neil saying, you were the one who wiped off the sindoor off my forehead, tore away my mangalsutra, you freed me from that relation, and now you can never tie me again to any relation!
Neil is shocked.
Glimpses of Avni going missing from the Christmas party too is shown, as Neil sees the discarded clothes of Santa.
