TOI:Surbhi Jyoti replaces Mouni Roy in Naagin 3

Popular show Naagin is soon going to return to the small screen with Season 3. However, this time around, the leading ladies of the show, Mouni Royand Adaa Khan, have been replaced.

While details are still awaited, there are reports that Qubool Hai actress Surbhi Jyoti has been finalized to play the main protagonist. The actress was last seen in Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, which went off air in June, 2017.

Also, she was seen in Tanhaiyaan, a web series, opposite Barun Sobti, who is best known for his TV show, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

Recently, producer of the show, Ekta Kapoor, had announced on her Instagram account that a new face is all set to grace the screen in the third season.

The caption of her post read as: A new naagin arrives! As we bid Adieu to @imouniroy and @adaakhann from NAAGINwe welcome the NEW! Will soon reveal my new 'naagin' or should I say 'NAAGINS' #waitfornaagin3

Mouni Roy was one of the first ones to react to the post. She left an emotional comment that read as - "that hurt a little but am excited too." To this Ekta had replied, "You will always be a part of Balaji! For now, bigger things await u!!!!!! My dearest we will miss u on naagin!"

Considering Mouni has big Bollywood projects in her kitty for now, this news doesn't really come as a surprise.

I mean , Is sj finaled fr the show ????? I really hoping fr her new show, no matter what it is as it is best !!!!!

Dnt know i should be happy or sad 😕 with this news though I watched earlier nagins😆 but can't say about zoya bubby one playing such normal ..

Badly missing zoya now.

Nagin...?seriously...?I am not much of a fan of the series...Watched the bits of first season for the leads..

And I really cant see SJ as a naagin but maybe we could see her in something different!!!

Dnt knw to be happy or sad.i dnt wnt her to face backlash 4m prev seasons nagin fans.
I watchd both nagins.both was revenge thriller.so may b surbhi's role also have grey side.
Sbs said ths time nagin3 ll hv 3nagins.puja banerjee is approachd for anothr nagin's ckt.
M sad yet excitd.whtevr we say hw crap ekta shw we cnt deny ekta has power 2mk her shw/its ckt populer/trp toppers.surbhi is very much popular 4m qh tanhayian.&ths nagin ll add anothr feather on her cap
