People do get jealous of successful people and it is their own insecurities, inferiority complex that make them distance from friends or relations that are more successful than them.
Successful people can often be very vulnerable and have a hard time finding genuine love and friendship. You never know if someone is using you or jealous of you.
It is not just filmdom, it happens everywhere, in all fields.
Oh and men do seem to have problem accepting a woman more successful or famous or richer or any way 'better' than they are. Ironically women are always supposed to be happy in partner's success but men are not expected to do the same?
Desi men especially have lot of problem with a woman richer, more famous, more educated or anyway 'more' or better in any department than them. Social pressure also makes them worse.
I mean we can all see the flak Abhishek gets for having a wife way more successful than him.
These are rubbish social conditioning and stereotypes that need to be done away with.
Half the times parents themselves don't want daughter to be successful lest it gets difficult to find a match for her. Women have to pay price of ego of men.
