I can't think of anything better. There was one soap where the FL reprimanded the ML for applying sindoor to her (they weren't weren't, he had to do it so they wouldn't be kicked out of his uncle's house) but, generally, it's either slapping or hugging, or both.

If she gets emotional and hugs Raj in front of Chander, how will she prevent Chander from marrying Simi?

Okay now this is another sick move by Raj. Is that how you win over a girl? And in their case what are they trying to prove? That Raj married Preet? But aren't they already married? In their very own language, Preet never stopped wearing a mangalsutra or sindoor. She still wears the so called suhaag ki nishaniya. Then what is the point?

The point is that up till now, Raj has not accepted her as his wife. It's always Preet trying prove things.
In last night's episode, when Raj said to Preet that "I am still your husband", Preet was pretty taken aback, because till now he's never told or accepted her as his wife.

Fortunately, neither you nor I have married Raj. It's Preet who has. So if you ask if this is the way you win over Preet, then yes, definitely.
Because that's what she wants.
It was pretty much clear in yesterday's episode that if Raj told her that he loved her, she'd go running into his arms.
IMO, they are made for each other.
