But I guess the difference is that he is saying "Thi" and Avni is hearing "Hai". Anyways, who would not be defeated hearing someone they care about is going to be a victim of trafficking and they can't save them? Human reaction I guess? But he needs to choose his words wisely if he still wants Avni in his life after all this!

I dont think Avni is an option or a second choice? I guess he is being honest and showing his feelings to the person he considers closest to him. Just like Avni broke down in front of Neil saying "Usne MERE Ali ko Maar diya!" She didn't think twice claiming Ali as her's because everyone knows what he means to her. Including Neil.

I guess Neil is trying to do the same, or IS doing the same. But the difference here is that Juhi was his ex and someone he claimed he was in love with once. His Mother goes out of her way to harp on the fact that Neil never forgot her. Exaggerates everything. If Neil had already told Avni he loves her, then she will be listening to this in a different context. She will be there for him like a supportive life partner, knowing full well he needs her support at a tough time like this. His ex he thought was dead is alive and on top of it, she is a victim of crime as well. He is a Police officer and can't seem to save her.

So in this situation, Avni would support him. But if she knew he loved her, then it won't be hard for her to hear Neil's pain about Juhi. But not knowing what her position is in his life, this can't be easy for Avni. What Neil has forgotten in his distress is that he has NOT told Avni how he feels about her, so she may MU all this as he's still in love with Juhi and that's why he is upset. There is potential for so much angst here. I like that. But I also feel very bad for our girl who doesn't deserve this!
