Wow this whole pda opinion has turned into ww3 lol
Look pda is fine to certain limit once it becomes a source of entertainment for others it starts looking tacky and the whole romance element gets lost to comedy.

Ott pda doesnt fit shivays characteristics eevn if he is all open to love, he can take anika on a date serenade her with his feelings etc be all romantic thats fine. Playing games and cringeworthey gestures in front of everyone kinda kills the romance at least to me.

Pda might suit rudras characteristics better but even he might get carried away coz he is young but ppl might be fine with it considering his youth and experience and the fact he carries his heart on his sleeve.

If its om doing that again cringeworthy coz its not him, he might express his feelings in private pr through a gesture but def not games or getting the whole family invovled.

Im all for shivay being able to express his love but there should be a balance between crossing over the ott line.

LOL thank you all for your responses...I didn't realize this would become such a raging debate😆

Just a few general points I want to clarify again since some people insist on skewing the point I'm trying to make here:

PDA = Public Display of Affection...affection is a term open to broad interpretation on subjective levels...to some people "affection" would be a hug, holding hands...to other people, "affection" would be a kiss or something more amorous than that. Either of these things done publicly can count as PDA.

Different individuals have different ways of expressing themselves also based on their age and/or maturity levels...my point was that Shivaay has been shown as a man fiercely protective of what he shares with Anika for a very long time...no one is saying that he shouldn't express the love he's finally being able to enjoy and feel but the degree of it and the execution can make or break a scene...

For example, THIS is the right kind of PDA at this stage...he's holding hands with Anika, watching her all besottedly...this is sweet and classy at the same time

But when he decides to do his usual cupping her face/hair brushing routine in a more obviously flirty way right in front of his brother, it comes across as cringe-inducing/weird/cheesy...the NATURE of it matters...it is not the same as holding her face or hugging her consolingly in front of everyone...that's different for obvious reasons...when he gives everyone a window seat into every single moment b/w him and Anika including a love confession, it's not the same as him proposing to her publicly or accepting her as his wife publicly...these are two different things.

If you don't leave any sanctity to your private moments, you become a public spectacle and a joke...it's a fine line to walk which is why people have subjective opinions about what degree of PDA is ok for whom...

I simply stated what I felt about Shivaay's behavior in yesterday's scene with RB...it wasn't cool, it wasn't classy...and it's ironic especially coming from a character that's been built up on this whole hype of a "classy image"...it's not smooth, it's not suave...so I don't get why we or Anika are supposed to be impressed by this😕😆

This is NOT Shivaay in his Billu mode which is actually endearing in all it's fumbling awkwardness...this is him thinking he's being oh so "smooth" but he's only coming across as LAME.

This side of his was evident during the before separation rasam times as well and when he said khidkithod khubsoorath..and when he hugged her in front of rikara at kitchen..

He is happy and trying to make annika feel happy and accepted in front of the world.why can't he show PDA?

Personally I feel good when I see him like this..and can't understand this reaction from fandom..
IB fans really are hard to please

Agree with you. I also did not find any wrong in Shivvay behavior. As far as showing love in chawl he was doing it there also. See his dialogue, nahana chalogi and in the night also he immediately came down to sleep with her with the speed of light . But in my view the person like SSO can not be comfortable in the atmosphere in chawl, all windows open, no fan no AC. And when he tried to make move water from the roof and then no electricity. Nobody can be in full mood of love in chawl in that condition.

It seems people are not understanding our POV. There is nothing wrong with being openly affectionate towards your wife, or even hugging or saying ILU whether as a declaration or as a part conversation as long as it's done by choice. Tricking someone into saying ILU is also fine as long as it is in tune with the nature of person. There would be no issue if it was Rudra planning a game of love-akshari or tricking Bhavya into confessing by feigning a heart attack because he has a childish nature and is generally quite dramatic.

This is SSO we are talking about, who is much older and is more reserved in nature. Whenever he has openly declared the status or the nature of their relationship in front of others, the situation called for it. Sure he can jatao his haq on Annika is front of everyoneone, grab her hand and remove petals from her hair in front of others, but love confession isn't a game and being touchy feely all the time in public is not tune with his characterization.

He is capable of childish antics too, but not in front of public. I would have understood if it was still just his family but there were guests too. Why would he make a spectacle of their first declaration of love?

Even if SSO had to trick Annika into saying it, he would have figured out a way to do everything on his own and not involve everyone else.

First ILU is special. It's something very intimate. Yes, it can happen in public if the situation calls for it, but the situation here didn't call for it.

If you're an introvert, love won't suddenly turn you into an extrovert. It might change your views and make you more accepting or accommodating, but it won't change your personality. In SSO's case, he was an elitist. Love changed his views on NKK and made him see people's true worth. It can make him sleep on the floor because it's a habit that can learned, he can drink chai or eat paav bhaji because that's an acquired taste. But that's how far he will change. Love can change your outlook on life but it doesn't change your fundamental nature.

If Yday's scenes were crazy and silly , like coming from a man who once thought of love as idiotic and useless .. they were cute and funny too. This is a temporary phase. . till the marriage ( love waali )happens..he wont be romancing her 24x 7 in public once the other tracks are introduced & this is the best time of courtship. The precap of love akshari shows SSO's interests have changed ..ladki beautiful chul kar gya hai and he wants to hear bheegi honth.
The name Ishqbaaz itself says .. how he has turned into a lover boy .
This doesnot meet his tadi will go totally.. no we want that to stay
