Why have the FLs on Indian TV got to be so weak? This is obviously nothing new but the scene in the precap for the following week just pissed me off. Surely, Preet can grab a vase or something and hit Chandar round the head with it? But, no, she's probably going to wait around on that bed for Raj to show up and save her from being raped.

This is a serious problem. In a certain Indian serial, the FL's rapist comes to her house for a second round. He gets his men to beat the ML up and then goes inside the house to attack the FL. She just runs around the house, screaming out for her near unconscious and battered husband to save her. The rapist eventually corners her, threatens to rape her and then leaves.
This is a remake of a Turkish drama where the FL grabs something and threatens to kill the rapist with it. She holds her ground until the rapist backs off and leaves. The ML is in the same state as his Indian counterpart. Just look at the stark difference. The Indian woman waits around for her man to save her whereas the non-Indian defends herself.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not calling Indian women weak. They're just portrayed as weak in serials which is a real pity.

Do the CVs want to make Preet stupid so that RajPreet come closer
There better be as much substance in this as show!

Copied from the thread "Chander takes Preet to foreign doctor".
The freaking problem with the TRP aunties is that they want to see their heros saving their heroines.
That's romantic for them. That's cute. That brings in the TRPs.
If the FL just defends herself, it would be too unromantic.
One can't blame the seriel makers. They show what the audience want to see.

I wonder if the audiences will ever change. When this generation of TRP aunties go, won't it be our generation? Won't we want to watch something better? Won't we just change the channel when something stupid like this comes on? The Turkish show I mentioned was a hit not only in Turkey but India/Pakistan as well. Aren't these the same TRP aunties Who watched that dub? Or someone else?

We just assume that TRP aunties are old morons.
There's more to it than that.
I remember someone mentioning about a hot sex scene between RajPreet in this very forum.
There are way too many of these types.
People don't want to be realistic. Soaps are a means of escaping for these aunties. They like live in their dream world and be content with vicarious pleasures.

I don't want to mention names. That would amount to bashing.
You could check it out for yourself in the current EDT.

I mean we have soaps in the UK as well - really dumb ones which are all full of cheating, murder, and pregnancies - but we've also got sensible dramas. It looks like young and sensible Indian people don't want to watch soaps, and rightly so.
There's also the fact that the younger generation watch stuff on hotstar rather than tuning in to watch the same stuff on TV. I guess that's why TRP aunties are the mass contributors to TRPs. Oh well...

Yeah, I saw the comment. There are so many horny IG/Twitter fans so I'm not surprised.
Personally, I've got no problem with love scenes as long as the story is good.

Watching soaps in our house was always considered taboo 😆
Indian soaps are meant only for the wasters. And I unfortunately tend to agree with that.
My dad would freak out if he knew that I not only watch one, but also waste time on a forum discussing about it 😆

Same here. My father complains when he catches my mother and/or me watching Indian dramas but he does watch Waaris when I watch it. He liked the original concept. My mother complains when she catches me watching Indian dramas but then she watches the stupidest of them all.
Both of my parents would ban me from the internet if they found out I was on IF.
