To me he just sounds the same... in every song same voice.. same style.. no creativity..

Sonu who is by miles ahead of him.. sounds so much different in some of the songs that u just wonder who is singing.. and that made the songs different from one another..

I hope he goes on permanent hiatus. I don't know why but I've got some thing against him. I know it's a bias and maybe I'm not justified but I get irritated when I see Pritam's name as the music composer. I think he thinks too much of himself. Whatev!! Atleast I'll hear arijit without pritam in the background for the time being !

This forum is made of real world people only I suppose. I don't love all his songs but I do love many of his songs and I think he's an amazing singer. I love to listen to him especially when I'm alone. Comparing him to Kishore Kumar is a bit of a stretch though!

Yes, he needs some time off. After all listening to hundreds of foreign songs and then using then in his own composition is really tiresome. 😆

It's not hate for him or something, it's just that his voice is too overused... Plus his tone and voice is very monotonous and sounds just the same no matter what kind of song he sings... But I guess that versatility factor is not seen anymore in singers nowadays... The last lot of singers who were actually versatile are Sonu Nigam, KK, Shaan and the others...

Also I've heard him live... And since then I don't have much of a good opinion for him... Not being able to sing Live is one thing but it wasn't even fun.. I know most of his songs are slow /sad kinda songs but hearing them live can also be fun and fun..!

Yes I miss the era of Sonu, Shaan and kk. One part is that they are attached to my childhood memories. The other is their versatility and their expressions!! They were so dynamic. Even now in my jukebox I've got a playlist named as Sonu 2017 with all his recent songs. And honestly not a single song is the same. I mean the voice and expressions in has mat pagli and gori tu lath maar are so different and then comes Halka halka and Mann beqaid huva and you're like is he the same guy?? I love that about him and i never get bored listening to him. I wish he sings more songs too, as kk, Shaan and sukhi too. But that's the bane of being a 90s kid. I'm sure our parents said the same thing when they heard our songs - they're like kya chal raha hai... humare time mein Mohd Rafi the and Kishore Kumar. Lol. Gen y you see

Sonu is a legend. Do you know how many people revere him? Nobody denies that. And at least for me it's foolish to compare arijit with sonu. Arijit has a long way ahead to reach the level of Sonu. But you can't deny that he is good. His ballads rock and then even his party songs like main Tera boyfriend or Nashe si chadh gayi hain and then his classicals like ayat or laal ishq. But I do see your point - he should change up his style a little bit, especially when he is singing love ballads. Besides he sings all the good songs. What are you going to do - stop listening to songs altogether?? Better to see the good in him I feel.. that way I enjoy his songs more!
