Rekha bows her head to Dharmendra’s poster and admires Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya at Ikkis premiere

The Ikkis premiere in Mumbai drew Bollywood's who's who. Rekha stole the show, not just with her stunning golden saree, but with her warmth towards Agastya Nanda. The 25-year-old, grandson of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, clearly won hearts as Rekha showered him with affection. Sriram Raghavan's war drama had fans buzzing, and the star-studded event didn't disappoint.

On the red carpet, paparazzi captured Rekha's heartfelt tribute. She paused, gazing at a poster of the late actor Dharmendra, and stood in quiet reverence for a few moments, hands folded and head bowed. Following this, she turned her attention to Agastya's photo on the poster, gently touching his face before offering a blessing with a flying kiss.

"Ikkis" tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, in a compelling biopic. Agastya portrays the war hero, and the film features a final performance by the late Dharmendra, who plays his father. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, and Rahul Dev. Mark your calendars for its release on January 1, 2026.

Originally planned for a Christmas release, "Ikkis" shifted to the New Year due to the impressive box office success of "Dhurandhar." Producer Dinesh Vijan acknowledged the need for space in the competitive market, leading to the strategic rescheduling of "Ikkis."

Amitabh Bachchan, after viewing the film at an earlier screening, enthusiastically praised his grandson's performance. "Emotions flow.. As do they tonight when you witness the grandson excel in IKKIS .. the time when his Mother, Shweta is being rushed to Breach Candy Hospital as she encounters final labour pains .. his birth .. holding him barely a few hours later, and discussing whether his eyes were blue .. to the time when he grew a bit and holding him in my arms, and he fiddles with my beard .. to his growth .. to the final personal decision of his to be an actor, and tonight to see him in frame, unable to take my eyes off each time he fills the frames of the film," the superstar wrote on his blog.
