Why the hatred for arijit singh on this forum??

I've seen countless posts and topics where arijit is either ridiculed or put down. And I just can't understand why. I mean he is the only singer in the current generation who can actually sing. And of course he sings almost every song which is a downer I agree but still- he remains one of the few successful singers of this generation. It's one thing to criticise his voice or the way he sings, quite other to bash him I feel. Just want to know why..??

I love his songs. But man he has a lot of attitude. And, how i know that?
He did a show in our University and his PRvs strictly told our management that Arijit would nkt perform on the stage used by others. Since, it was a three days fest and his show was the last day event before DJ night. So, there were two stages built, one for the students and local bands etc and one suoer huge and extravagantly grand one just for iur Arijit baba.

Oh.. had no idea. Whenever I saw his interviews I always thought that he was a very down to earth guy yaar. If that's the case then it's bad. I hate liking people who aren't genuine. Doesn't matter to me if you are arrogant, but it matters to me if u aren't genuine 😡

to me he is mediocre no where near to the greatness of 90's playback boys kumar sanu , sonu nigam or udit narayan , roop kumar , shaan ...their voices were soothing arijit is not soothing to ear

Papon - So many amazing songs,

Benny dayal, Lucky ali all of them are good from young gen. As for old gen Sukhvinder, Kailash Kher and many more.

They aren't just given as many chances as Arijit. And Arijit doesn't even show versatility in his singing..There was a point I couldn't even differentiate between his romantic songs. same emotion same way of singing, I dread arijit singh songs now. It is not that I don't like his voice it is not extraordinary either. The only different song which i waa surprised was sung by arijit is Dili wali girlfriend, was surprised he could sing something other than the same romantic songs.

Okay, sorry. I agree - he is NOT the only singer who can sing. But I was thinking of Atif and Amit and others when I was saying that. Wasn't really thinking of papon and benny Dayal - though I don't know why. I love papon and have seen him live so it was kinda an obvious mistake, but papon always gets similar kinda songs and is too under-utilised and too less promoted. I also wasn't thinking of the older generation coz I don't think there is any comparison. Sukhi Shaan Sonu kk - no comparison.

Not really your fault, All these singers don't come to our minds cause they aren't promoted by Bollywood. Atif has his own singles so i guess he self promoted himself.. but really Bollywood needs a major revamp in music dept. Not just singers, even the music directors, The only one I like currently are Shankar Eshaan Loy and Amit. I like few songs of Ram sampath..All the songs nowadays are either Arijit songs/ Punjabi hindi Badshaah type mixes.

forget male singers, I am so sad that they don't write enough songs for the amazing female singers we have😭

'Bollywood needs a major revamp in terms of music' - this part I completely agree. Because seriously the songs are so repetitive now a days. There are barely a few that I want to listen to and none that stay back in my iPod. I really miss SEL and AR. They aren't as active as before and somehow their melodies have also changed. Feels like they are catering to the current trend but losing their heart in the process. I completely agree about female singers. All of them are used as an adjunct to the male. That's why I loved the current song pinjra. It was an out and out female number sung by Sunidhi whom I love.

I like Arijit very much but AR Rahman is my all time favorite 😳 His music crosses all geographic boundaries yet has such a native cultural flavor.

I think its mostly fatigue... Hearing the same voice again and again.. And like another said, at this point all his songs sound the same to me ...
