In times when stars are known to hike their
fees according to their success ration, this
top actress has taken a pay cut of one crore
in her next film! She is also known to charge
a humongous fee for all her films and is
considered to be one of the highest-paid
actresses today. After signing a historical
she took back a pay cheque of Rs.10 crore
(approx) even after the filmmaker had given
her a hit in their last film. Apparently, she
had refused to cut down on her fat fees
because the film was extremely demanding.
The actress, who is known to hike her price
every couple of years, had raised it even
further last year after she signed a
Hollywood film. A filmmaker approached her
for a film with one of the top actors of today
but the actress was adamant about her
fixed fee (even though she has done two
blockbusters with him) and made it clear to
him in no uncertain terms that she was in
no mood to bring it down in the near
future. However, when a filmmaker of
critical acclaim (and some duds at the BO)
approached her to play the central role, a
few months ago, the actress dropped a neat
one crore from her usual fees, without a
murmur. The film starts next year.
Three reasons are given for why the actress
slashed her fee: she was desperate to sign a
film by the acclaimed filmmaker who has
already directed her rival (who is doing
extremely well in Hollywood) and to prove
that she can act, second being that she
loved the dark, sinister role and the fact that
she was doing a film with an art house
actor (of critical acclaim) with whom she
had enjoyed working a lot in her last film.
Also, it's been her dream to work with this
filmmaker for years so when she got the
chance she didn't want to let it go.
Whatever may be the reason, the filmmaker
must be over the moon that only he (and
not the other filmmakers) could get her to
drop a crore and thus reduce his film's
budget too!
