Just saw the movie 'Fan '

I think it was interesting and different than the usual Bollywood fare like over the top comedies or the too melodramatic love stories. Yeah they are the most successful genres and now I know the reason for this.

The reason Bollywood makes only the same kinds of movies which really are boring now, is because the audience doesnt accept anything else. I had put off seeing Fan for so long thinking it would be the same Shahrukh Khan kind of movies but found Fan quite interesting and different. Still I know it was a flop which is very sad.

I dont think the Bollywood stars can ever experiment with films like these as people expect only the formula kinds of films from them. Kudos to Shahrukh for taking a chance and making different movies. BUT I dont blame any of the superstars for not taking chances to make different films as lots of money is riding on them and people just dont accept them in different roles. I dont think Shahrulh will take a chance again to act in a non-formula film.

Only the smaller actors can make different kinds of movies where the audience goes with an open mind to see anything different. Sad this is because I also saw HIndi medium and loved Irfan in it but I dont know how audience would have taken it if there was a bigger star in it.

Raees I saw and completely hated. It was a good story but was directed so badly that it was embarrassing to watch. The whole movie was more about the look of the frame than the actual story. JUst still shots and freezes for nothing.

After Dilwale I thought why does a man of Shahrukh's stature even take up these movies. Does he not have script sense or anything? Then you realize why he does after the flop of a movie like Fan. Yeah Dilwale flopped too but that pathetic movie was just beyond redemption.

JHMS --- dont think I'll really ever watch it... heard enough about it 😆 and that's enough.

Agreed...FAN is such a beautiful movie...and SRK was just amazing in it...and u r right...its risky for the big stars to go out of what is expected of them...because if the movie comes crashing down its a big loss for a lot of people...but still glad that SRK did a movie like FAN...it was a treat for us SRKians😳😳...and thanks for this post.
