And I don't think there would be any connection between good Maya(the twin) and Arjun. She must've been leading her life separate possibly being Maya's captive.

I'm leaning towards Twin theory, but if CVs feel like being lazy and all i.e., in no mood to explain Maya and her Bal ChitraKatha they'd take the plastic surgery route.
