Yeh to hona hi tha! 😆 And ofcourse Surya should have made it systematic as he was indulging himself in some ghotala... 😆
The toxin of greed and cruelty has been mixed with the blood! The truth must be very hard but I will find that...=Matlab ek se zyada murder hue hai?😕 Surya gave a huge hint😲 but who is profit and principle between Bharmal and Sujamal? Oh so Sujamal was murdered?😲😲😲
HMMM... 😆 Dekhte hay... 😉
Jodha becomes RICH😆😆 so does that mean she wont need a certain Mr

Jodha is already rich by her own. She does not need her father's property. 😆

How did your exams go?

I see you are back with a bang.Back to back updates. But I'm way behind.

Have a question.

How do you know so well which path things tend to take between a possessive/jealous GF and a jealous/possessive BF.Enlighten please!

Okay now coming to the update.
Though short it was a well knit one.Just couldn't get one thing

"Are you serious? Papa was willing to write the whole property in my name? Jodha picked one brow.

"He wanted to make Surya the trustee of the whole property. He wanted him to handle the whole business after his death, and so planned to write the whole business in his name.

Property to Jodha business to Surya ... bujhlam na.
Besides the haweli wasn't business the only movable or immovable property that Mr. Bharmal possessed??

😆 You know posting an update is always way more exciting than getting an update. 🤣 Never mind, you come slowly... 😳 😆

😆 Because I have seen many love-stories to build and to break in front of my eyes... (Though did not get a practical experience. 😆)

Though I am not well-versed on these legal things yet... Surya is made the trustee of his property, the company will be in the name of Jodha but all the business decisions will be made by Surya as he will be the top authority...
Besides the haweli wasn't business the only movable or immovable property that Mr. Bharmal possessed??
This is something I really did not think about. 😆 Assume na, that he had a lot of money and movable and immovable properties other than house and business. (I am sure he had!)

CHAPTER 7:

23 December, in the local police station...

"Surya was quite a rich man! Jalal uttered in his mind while checking the documents of his bank account. "Sixty thousand per month in an ordinary manager post of a private agricultural farm? Can you imagine Mr. Sahani?

"Wh...what sir?

Jalal picked up his brows and smiled at him. "Rajasahab truly had the old majestic attitude it seems. However, he concentrated on the copy of his passbook. "He has withdrawn all the money from his account in that morning. It seems like he was already planning to go... Mr. Sahani, I need all the detailed records of his transactions.

"Yes. Sir...

"What did your force do the whole yesterday? No news of Surya till now?

"S...sirr!

Jalal looked back; the constable was trembling near the entrance door. "Come in, please... Jalal ordered.

The constable entered inside and saluted. "We went to station to get the news of Surya, sir! And we got this... He gave a copy of the list of passengers. "Surya had booked ticket in a train of Mumbai departed at 10 pm.

"That means he should have left for train much before 10 pm. Then why was he waiting till 12:30? If he was going to kill Mr. Singh at midnight then why did he book ticket? To confuse the police and make a strong alibi? Jalal frowned. "Well then? Did he board on that train?

"Probably not sir... Neither has he left by train after that. The constable said.

"Did you check the bus terminus?

"Yes sir. We interrogated everyone who was on duty yesterday morning. None of them could identify Surya...

"Hmm... Either the bus conductors are blind, or Surya was hiding himself under any disguise, if not he just has taken any other mean of communication to go away from Madhubani, like on car or bike or auto-rickshaw or matador of the farm, what say, Mr. Sahani?

"B...but sir, here is hardly any vehicles for long distant journey, how can someone go to Mumbai from Madhubani in Auto-rickshaw or matador?? If only he has gone for Mumbai... Though, generally the people of the village use cycle-vans or bikes maximum. If any matador or car is missing it will not be very tough to find out. But...

Jalal frowned, and suddenly took his cell phone out, dialing a number...

"Ins. Ruqaiya Ahmed speaking...

"Hello, Ruqaiya.

"Oh! Jalal Sir!! Say sir, how are you? I... I mean when are you going to join sir?... I mean... The girly voice suddenly touch the peak of excitement, stating it clearly that her heart starts beating fast even hearing a small sound from her cool and handsome boss. Jalal enjoys this obviously, any young man would like to cherish the fact that he is the crush of one pretty young girl, and also Jodha's jealousy with Ruqaiya is an entertaining part of his life, but this is surely not a time of joking with Ruqaiya...

"I am stuck here. Need a help from you. I am sending you a mobile number. Track that...

"Okay sir... Ruqaiya is very professional and efficient otherwise when it turns out to be a serious matter. "But sir, what happened? You are in Ms. Singh's country house na? Any problem there?

"A huge problem Ruqaiya. Murder! Jalal stated. "Anyway, I will tell you later, by now track the location of this phone. He is the prime suspect...

"I am sending you the details within tonight sir.

"Thank you so much Ruqaiya... Jalal told with a little mischief in voice.

"Anything for you, sir! The professionalism in Ruqaiya's voice again changed into an elated excitement.

Jalal smiled after putting down the mobile. His smile became broader as just by that time another call entered. This time his sweetheart, Jodha.

"Say sweetheart, what's up? Jalal picked up the phone with laughter after getting out of the cabin of Sahani.

"Why are you laughing? Was talking with any girl kya?

"O my god! Sherlock Holmes ki maa?

"It was Ins. Ruqaiya Ahmed, for sure?

"Offf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an instant deduction!

"Shameless kahika! I will kill you now! Jodha fumed in fake anger.

"First let this murder-case to solve first, then we can go for another murder-case. Jalal tried hard to be serious suppressing his laughter. "Anyways, Ruqaiya was not flirting with me today, neither was I encouraging her. I called her to give her a serious assignment regarding this case.

"What? Jodha asked in a worried tone. "Did you get any news of Surya?

"He had booked ticket for Mumbai in the last train of that night. Jalal informed her. "I am tracking his phone's location, let's see now.

"Hmm! Jodha was silent for a moment, then she spoke out. "I am going to our farm, if you want have a visit there. I think we will get a lot of information from there.

23 December, in the office of the agricultural farm...

With her usual professional swiftness Jodha was turning the papers of the files. The assistant manager was standing with tensed face. With turning of each page Jodha's frown was growing deeper. "So according to you these are the last updated financial reports of the farm, Rameshji?

"Y...yes... madamji. He stammered.

"So the condition of the farm was more than worst. No export, no proper investment. Even the record of revenue graphs of last 2-3 years shows no betterment! It's consistently decreasing! And here... Jodha opened another file... "Expenses have no binding at all! Look! She gave the file to him. But Rameshji was gulping in tension.

"Do you have anything to say, Mr. Pathak? Jodha looked at him.

Mr. Pathak shook head. "I only used to see the legal policies. I have no relation with finance and revenue at all!

"I see. But you are the one who is answerable for this Rameshji, aren't you?

"I mean madamji... I don't know anything. Surya Sahab used to take account of all these. The middle-aged man gulped again.

"Surya!! Jodha sighed unmindfully but at once got back into her professionalism. "Who was doing the audit of the farm?

Rameshji looked such a way as if he never heard the term.

"I see! Jodha smiled hopelessly. "Never mind, I am going to search it... that what was the main source of income of this farm under the coverage of legal agricultural farm! However, She looked at Rameshji. "I heard that there was a vast mismatch in the transaction of money from the fund of the farm? Can you enlighten me about it?

"The account of almost 50-60 lakhs is missing Madamji. Surya Ji found that some days back. Rameshji informed sadly. "Yes, our cashier had told that Bhagwant Sahab had took money from fund, and had forbidden him to take any record of that... but even he didn't take such a big amount.

"Great! Jodha's lip bent into sarcasm! "Corruption in the midst of an already corrupted organization...

"So what's new in this? Going by nowadays standard, corruption and flow of black-money is very much common and expected in such a business in such a small rural area! People like Mr. Bharmal Singh are bound to be corrupted to become successful, and to buy that success they have to oil the much corrupted persons like Someswar and Co. It's a cycle and almost impossible to eradicate completely that's it! Jalal entered into the room while venturing his opinion.

"But Jalal... Jodha went to him in excitement. "Do you know what the condition of this farm was? In this way the Singhs would go bankrupt in some days... but in place of that they are flourishing each and every year!

"So, you think there is another source of income? What do you recon? Any serious criminal offence- that may connect with the Bhiwandi's case, or simple treachery with the villagers? Jalal frowned.

"Maybe; the source of income is not small and silly... This farm is just for a namesake. Jodha told. "Anyways, I will find it.

"Best of luck, madam! Jalal smiled. "But now our main objective is not to find the root of corruption of this small farm... I need to dig the truth from somewhere else... He picked up the file from the table while talking and turned out the pages. "What is Surya's educational qualification?

"He is a B.Com graduate. Jodha told. "He was quite a good student and had lots of prospects in outer world if he could continue studies and search a job in some better company. But he didn't even try...

"Why would he? Especially when he was getting the almost same amount of salary a general manager of a medium company gets after doing MBA and bearing a huge workload? He smiled. "Your father was giving him 60 thousands per month Jodha, excluding his expenses of food and house which was also pulled by him separately...

Jodha bit her lips in confusion. "You know Jalal, my father has nominated Surya as the trustee of the whole property in his last will! For some reason he was pampering Surya too much.

"Yes... And I have to know the reason first to solve the riddle of his death. And for that first of all I have to know Surya more... He looked a Ramesh Ji. "Where is the desk of Surya?

23rd December, in the desk of Surya...

"So tell me Mr. Ramesh! Jalal asked while going through the files on the desk of Surya. "How was Surya as a man?

"He was a gentleman sir! He used to handle all the responsibilities of this farm himself on behalf of Rajasahab! He was very decent and soft to all the workers and employees, even he had a good relations with the farmers of the farm. Also Rajasahab used to trust on him...

Though, Jalal was hardly listening to the list of qualities of Surya depicted by Rameshji. He was keenly looking at the files. Very normal official documents they are, nothing special. The chamber is a small and stuffy one, sunrays do not come inside though the old window behind the back of the desk, the only source of light is the very old tube light beaming palely on the wall. In this unhealthy place, in an almost damaged system Surya has been working for over 8 years, and was getting more salary than he deserves. The arrangement of the desk itself says Surya was quite an organized man, but very recently something happened with him which had made him very careless about the world around him. Jalal noticed the big copy of employee-records is kept in the place of marketing documents. He remembered, he observed him to be same careless when he had come to see the farm for first time. That day he had his first and last proper conversation with Surya, right in this room.

20th December, in the office room of the farm...

The whole farm was simple and very close to the old soul of Indian villages. The men and women were working together in the farm. The simple rural environment was attracting urban Jalal a lot. He had come to visit the farm which is the source of income of Jodha's family and the village. Jodha was with him, and Shivani had accompanied them today. A young boy, probably works as a 4rth D-staff in the farm, was guiding them and passing information about the activities of the farm in detail with natural enthusiasm.

"What do you feel, Mr. Jiju? Shivani nudged him from back.

"Nice. Systematic, organized and neat, Ms. Saali!Jalal commented like an expert pulling Shivani's braid.

"Do you really think that? Jodha's tone was serious. "Don't you think this farm seriously needs some modern technologies to compete in market? These old machineries, old methods of farming and no variations...how long it will be profitable?

"I do not understand business, like you. Jalal laughed. "All I can say that this farm is a nice educational walk for urban people, and also a good place for EVS project. And if your father wants, he can easily make this a picnic spot.

"You only know how to talk gibberish. Jodha smiled. "But I am serious... at least papa should change the machineries! I doubt the business is running in a loss now.

"You can talk to manager sahab on this matter?

"No need. I have absolutely no interest on my family business.

The boy accompanying them was eagerly watching them. "Manager Sahab is waiting in his room. He informed. "Will you all meet him?

"No. Jalal... if your educational walk is over then we can move... Jodha hurried.

"Areee kya yaar! Jalal amusedly looked at the boy. "Come on, let's meet your manager sahab. I want to know how he manages something so systematically.

"Why? Are you going to start a farming business?

"Educational walk includes everything my darling. Jalal winked. "And besides, I am thirsty, and I am sure that manager Sahab is going to offer me some tea.

"Go wherever you like! Let's go Shivani, we do not need to learn management of a farm. Jodha bent her lips.

Shivani tried to be neutral in this plight, but Jodha did not listen to her and pulled her with her. So Jalal went to the manager's cabin alone, with that young lad accompanying him.

A small congested and suffocating room of the attached office, the boy knocked the door.

"Sahab, Mumbai-wale Babu has come.

Surya picked up his head from desk, and wore a sudden surprised and formal smile seeing Jalal smiling at him. "Oh! You... Please come in... Chhotu, go and bring two teas...

"Thank you. Jalal came inside while observing the room. The room is overall neat and clean despite the claustrophobic environment, proving the taste of the owner of the room. "I have come to see your farm. He passed a courtesy smile to him while pulling the chair in front of the desk. "The farm is beautiful.

"It is not my farm! I am just an employee! Surya smiled in anticipation. "Madhubani itself is very beautiful. Jalal continued. "My mood is refreshed in the fresh air of village. You are living here from your childhood right?

"Yes. Surya answered in short. Then he looked back. "Jodha... didn't come?

"No! Jalal laughed. "She thinks that going to meet manager in his cabin is wastage of time unless you start a farming business.

Though Jalal said this jokingly, and that was very clearly visible in his face, yet Surya looked somehow sad, and unmindful too. Meanwhile Jalal's eyes had stuck on the jumbo copy in front of Surya. He was writing something.

"Still you people use pen and copy to keep records? No system of computer? He asked.

"No! Surya smiled. "In this village we hardly have the full facility of electricity; forget computer!

"Isn't it problematic?

"No... I am habituated. Surya said after clearing his choked voice. "Though sometime I too feel it is necessary to introduce modern technology now...

"But you have a computer right? Jalal pointed to the nearby computer table.

"Yes! Surya followed his eyes. "Maybe two-three years back I had urged for a computer as workload was increasing. I wanted to computerize the financial progress report and the records of the employees actually. But... He smiled while shaking his head. "Somehow I realized then that it's better to handle these jumbo copies and files than computerized documents. Now that is mainly used for typing.

Chhotu came with two cups of tea; Jalal picked up one from the tray. Surya did not look interested in the cup, he took out a cigarette case from pocket and offered Jalal one...

"No thanks. Jalal refused with smile. Surya lit one cigarette and stared at the closed window unmindfully.

"How long are you working here?

"Pardon?

"I said from when are you working in this farm? Jalal repeated again.

"Oh! Surya smiled. "7-8 years minimum. Even 4-5 years back Rajasahab himself looked after the management of the farm; I just worked as his secretary. But from last 2-3 years he has reduced his work, and I am working as manager. You can say he has given me all the responsibilities of the farm.

"O I see... Jalal said. "But tell me one thing, don't you feel bore here? Working in such a place years after years where you have no future... don't you try somewhere else?

"Actually... Surya again became unmindful. "Rajasahab will not let me go so easily...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Jalal!

"Yeah yeah! Jalal got back his sense with the nudge of Jodha. He looked at the assistant manager again. "When did you see Surya for the last time?

"Yesterday morning sir. He left the office very soon... within 10 am.

"Accha?

"Yes sir. He said he has a lot of work in house due to engagement ceremony.

"Hmmm... Jalal nodded. "So that time he went to winthdraw money from bank and booking ticket for Mumbai. However... he moved towards the computer-table. "I need the employee records. He said and switched on the computer...

"Look Jodha, here is the records he stored. Jalal called Jodha. "He had told me that he started storing the data in computer two years back. If the diaries are also two years old, then very possibly he got the name of Paresh Sindhu while searching the old records only...

"But here is no Paresh Sindhu... Jodha frowned. "Ramesh-Ji, will you please bring all the old employee records?

Rameshji took about half-an-hour to gather all, still could not bring more than 1-2 copies. Among them most of the pages were blank. "Some are lost, sir... And Surya-Ji also had taken one copy with him... and also since all the workers are from this village only none bother to enlist the names... He stammered with each excuse.

"Understood! God knows what is going on in this farm! Jodha sighed hopelessly while going through the pages. Jalal was somehow not interested in those documents. He idly sat on a chair. "Have you ever heard of Paresh Sindhu, Rameshji?

"Paresh Sindhu? You mean father of our Bibhas?

Both Jalal and Jodha looked at him with surprise. "Bibhas?

"Yes... Bibhas works in our farm. Paresh Ji also used to work here. I hadn't joined that time. Rameshji stated. "I know this because some years ago Surya Sahab was also searching for Paresh-Ji.

"I see! Jalal smiled lightly looking at Jodha. "Can you call Bibhas for once?

"Bibhas has been suspended from his job sir!

"What?? Why?

"Don't know sir... About 1 month ago. Though, Rajasahab had melted a bit recently so Surya-Ji had called him again to get back his job. Before he joins again, all these hazards happened and...

"Okay, you give us Bibhas's address...
