Usually in films, the hero/heroine's best friend is fat or/and ugly...

From all the BW movies I have seen in my life, YJHD is the only film I can think of where the friend (ARK) is somewhat better looking than the lead (Ranbir).

Can you think of any other film??

Coming to think of it... arjun in Rock on and ARK in YJHD werent unimportant characters... They had something subtantial to do in the film.

I was talking about unimportant "friend" characters shown in films... eg Varun's friends in HSKD for example...They always cast bad looking guys to make up the hero's friend circle obviously so that the audience's attention remains with the hero.

Sana in SOTY was hotter than Alia(though they weren't friends but enemies),

Edit: and also the other girl Mansi(Shruti) who was a close friend to Alia in SOTY was also more good looking than her.
