Meri Pyari Bindu was a flop and not feeling too optimistic about Golmaal. I don't think she has a meaty role which would have a lasting impact on her career. It's good she has something on her plate right now but will she make it through this difficult time in her career. She was so promising in her earlier films. What went wrong?

She was overconfident imo. She thought that with the little she "achieved" she could take a 3-year break and the audience would still be there.

She also shot herself in the foot when she tried to fit into glamorous roles and forego the girl next-door ones. She could have had Piku and maybe other such roles but she wanted to loose weight and do more roles like the one she had in Kill Dill.

It''s a pity that she thinks that being hot has anything to do with weight. She was an A-list heroine and with the right roles and a good growth, she could have make the audience sit down and think of her as sexy like Vidya (Ishqiya, The Dirty Picture) or Rani (Aisha...). Being a girl next-door and sexy aren't exclusive imo.

All in all, as of now, her career is heading in the South of Nowhere.

Also she managed to annoy some people with her incessant talk about weight. Their is more to life and to an actress' career.

^ she didn't take the break on purpose. It was a combination of bad film choices and bad luck that caused her break. If I'm remembering correctly, she actually had 2-3 films signed during the past 3 years, but they all ended up being shelved and/or delayed and then cancelled. And for those 2-3 films, she ended up refusing many other acting roles. I think she was actually offered Piku and turned it down b/c she thought it would conflict with her films. One of the films was actually gonna be starring Saif Ali Khan too.

That said, she definitely has foot-in-mouth disease and comes across as suuuper annoying in-print and sometimes in interviews. Plus her obsession with her weight is something else. Her insecurity comes across a lot.

All is not lost. She might not be next Vidya but she does look more youthful than before. She needs to utilize the change in her by putting zipper on her lips (she talks way too much). Her bubbly over the top persona in both real life (during interviews) and movie are giving her aura of someone who is bubble headed. She needs to tone down on her enthusiasm. Work in small movies that has heart. Hopefully that will force her to be subtle. 😊

If Maneesh Sharma directed Bindu she'd be fine. There was enough material to work with there to secure her a few nominations. But newcomer Akshay Roy was way out of his depth. MPB was my most anticipated film of the 1st half of 2017. By far. I thought I'd watch it several times, but it was poor.

With Golmaal Again having about 8 lead stars, she will struggle to make a mark. I hope she gets a good fun entertaining part to play. I expect good wholesome yet intelligent humour. Should I be worried?

She indeed rejected movies for the Saif one but it has never been confirmed that it's the reason for her refusal to do Piku.

Also she did intend to take a break. Not as long as three years but the flops she had, especially DEI's one, got to her.

Aditya advised her to take a break and she took it to loose weight.

It's a pity really because she used to be the biggest competition Alia had.

What people don't realize about Parineeti is that she is no great actress. She does repetitive acting and does all these bubbly roles. Alia is also like that it is just that Alia has a godfather in KJo while Parineeti doesn't. She does have a godmother in Priyanka but I don't think PC is that interested in PC Jr's career.
