one of my freind argued that atif is greater than arijit and arijit became popular copying atif singing style what u all think regarding this

yes atif is better

a copycat is never better than original

i never liked SRK Don ..because he copied original

Another reason for not liking that movie was a certain jungli billi...

I love both but I think Arijit is more surila and has the ability to elevate even the most generic sounding songs. I do have to agree that his singing style is heavily inspired by Atif, when I first heard Tum Hi Ho that was the first thing that popped into my mind. The same is the case with Mithoon and the new singer (Akhil Sachdeva) who sang Sun Mere Humsafar from Badri, they seem to have an Atif hangover.

Arijit for me is a better, modified version of Atif. Palak Muchal is a way more extreme example of a copy cat singer who has made it big by imitating another already well established singer. I remember how my jaw dropped in disbelief when I found out the the female voice in Laapata and Chahun Main Ya Na was not Shreya Ghoshal.

Atif's singing is technically weak compared to Arijit BUT he has an amazing unique voice which even covers up those flaws at times.
