What chemistry, huh? Such spontaneity... Although gh Smita sometimes looked awkward in Masala movies, she shined in song sequences. Another fav song of the same pair is "Jaane Kaise Kab Kahan" from the movie 'Shakti'

There is a bathing scene in one of her movies, I think it was controversial at that time but her performance was so natural - the scene was a woman bathing in the streets under the water pump bcz that's the only way she could

^^ Shabana in Arth is my most favorite performance of hers, also it's one of the all time greatest performances ever done by an actress in Indian Cinema.

But, there are many people who also think that Smita acted the best and stole the show from Shabana in Arth. Do you guys agree with them? Would like to know your opinion. (Both of you)

It's been a while since I watched the movie, tried to watch it again recently when it was on TV and this might be an unpopular thing to say but I felt it was a little slow and dragging at places but Shabana kept the show going

Smitha had the thankless role of selfish "other woman", her role was complex bcz of her mental illness and I haven't seen anyone portray it in BW the way she did.

But the movie belongs to Shabana, when she pleads with his GF to leave her husband bcz she has no one else in this world, I felt so sad for women in our country in similar situation who have no one else and nowhere else to go

Credit goes to writing too, it must be Bhatt's best work.
