Hindi Medium continued to do well as it took its business to 57 crore nett after its fourth weekend. The film has beaten the bigger film Half Girlfriend that it was released with over three weeks back. Though it must be noted that it is only the NETT figures that are better for Hindi Medium as it has many tax exemptions across India. In terms of GROSS which is actual amount collected at the box office, Half Girlfriend is still ahead though with a clear week ahead of it this could change next week and Hindi Medium could finish a couple of crore ahead in terms of GROSS as well. Hindi Medium has emerged a true sleeper HIT as it will soon hit 50 crore nett but has never led the box office in any week since its release and is unlikely to do so in any of the weeks coming where it remains in the theaters.
It is very rare for a film to emerge a hit when the first week and second week collections are behind not one but two other films in todays day and age of limited box office runs. The film has shown a similar pattern in the first three weeks as below.
Week One - Had third highest collections of the week behind Half Girlfriend and Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion
Week Two - Again third highest after Sachin - A Billion Dreams and Pirates Of The Carribean - Salazars Revenge. Beat both films (Half Girlfriend and Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion) who were ahead in week one.
Week Three - Second highest after Wonder Woman. Beat both films (Sachin - A Billion Dreams and Pirates Of The Carribean - Salazars Revenge) who were ahead in week two.
Week Four - Same pattern as likes of Raabta and Mummy will be ahead. But it may go ahead of Wonder Woman which was better in week three.
The film is a rare sleeper hit which has succeeded despite never leading the box office race.

Hindi Medium scored very well in its second weekend as it grossed 10.85 crore nett apprx compared to the 11.79 crore nett in its first weekend which is a drop of 8%. The film came into its own over the weekdays and has continued that run in the second week. The film has found an audience in the metros and these metros will keep it going for a few weeks and could even go close to 50 crore nett. Hindi Medium has emerged a HIT with another strong holiday on Monday which is likely to take the second week to around 17 crore nett and a two week total of 40 crore nett for the film. The lifetime business will go to the vincity of 50 crore nett and maybe more depending on how the releases till Tubelight fare. The film only has apprecittion in a handfull of cities across the country but that is enough for the film due to the costs.
