'' Pyar kam karo, tau uska pagalpan sar chadhke bolta hai

Aur pagalpan thik karo, tau pyar kam ho jayega ''

These lines caught my attention today.. Arjun's interaction with his mother in the last couple of days, has given a fair bit of insight into his thought process and position as far his relationship with Maya is concerned..

1. He has convinced himself that Maya is sick.

2. The only hope of her recovery is him.. if he leaves her, she will destroy herself which he will not be able to take because he loves Maya.. After hearing him say all this I felt like watching a student sitting blank in an examination hall despite of knowing all the answers. 😕

This is where I will refer back to the lines that caught my attention today. He said Maya's love is pagalpan.. If he loves her any less ( than she desires ), she will go crazy ( pagalpan sar chadhke bolega)..and if pagalpan is cured, the love will lessen ( pagalpan thik kiya tau pyar kam ho jayega).. This almost felt like Arjun is scared of the extremity of Maya's love for him but he is also wary of getting her cured through medical help because he feels she will not love him the way she does now, IF she gets cured..and he doesn't want that?

Could that be a reason for Arjun not taking her to a doctor in all these years despite of realizing she is sick?

But arjun wanted to divorce her, kill himself and just run away from her, the reason u mentioned for not taking her to the doctor is contradicting.

The dialogue u mentioned too caught my attention but it was too twisted for me to understand.

I would say that's inconsistent writing.. the Arjun we are seeing from yesterday is way more mature and understanding than he has ever been..

Yes these lines confused me because what they meant were tha tarun doesn't want Maya to get well coz he fears that after she gets well her love for him will decrease 😕

And this logic confused me...I mean logically speaking if this the reason that Arjun has not taken Maya to a psychiatrist then this is pretty lame and unrealistic in my opinion.

Why would a man who loves his wife and knows that she is ill not want her to get better...why would Arjun think that if zmaya gets then she will stop loving him.

I mean he is not happy at all at the moment...he has no freedom...he is living in a golden cage and even Maya is not truly happy...she self inflicts pain and is suicidal.

The condition in which Arjun and Maya are living it is important for both of them that Maya gets well.

Maya needs to get better for both Arjun and herself

Any sane person will take his wife to a psychiatrist under such circumstances.

And if this is the reason that us given that coz Arjun fears that Maya's love for him will lessen and that is why he is not taking him to a psychiatrist then it is not convincing and realistic in my opinion.

Also as someone pointed out in the above post it is inconsistent writing..Arjun wanted divorce from Maya , asked for poison , he deliberately hurt himself to cause Maya pain.

And now his behaviour and statement is quite contradicting.

If writers have given the attempt to rape incident the reason then that is also a little hard to digest.

Same way for Arjun , Ayaan was the closest..even after 3 years Ayaan was the 1st person he wanted to meet and now as per him Vandana is his closest.

I wish the writing was more consistent and logical

When season 2 started Arjun wanted out... he wanted divorce... but suddenly all these dialogues are confusing me. Like on twitter I saw ppl r happy about ArYa that Arjun still loves him and thinks he's her cure and is afraid if he leaves her she will kill herself!! But then why was he asking for divorce?

CVS have forgotten how they started season 2 and what Arjun said that time I guess 😆

Yes, it confused me too and I thought maybe I am overthinking..so I thought let's see what other's feel about it.. I feel all the characters in the show are eccentric to some degree, ofcourse Maya being the extreme.. or maybe living with Maya for all this years has made Arjun lose his sanity too😆 But see, he seems to be pretty convinced about the fact that she is sick and that she needs help.. he said things that hardcore Maya fans say- she is sick, she needs help, she needs Arjun and that she's not wrong but its the circumstances that have made her the way she is.. He seems to know everything, yet he doesn't do anything to ''help'' Maya or himself.. the only explanation for that , atleast according to me, is that Arjun is addicted to Maya's beyhadh love..like a drug he hates but can't do without.. he is as insane if you ask me, otherwise who would willingly live in this hell?

Inconsistent writing perhaps.. One day you will loathe a character, next day they will confuse you about him/her.. Maya's interaction with Jhanvi and Arjun's with his mother , both parallel scenes have shown Arjun-Maya in a different light.. Maya self realization about herself, Arjun's understanding of Maya, all that was not there a week back.. but things will definitely change when Arjun comes to know of Samay and the fact that Maya took his help to frame Ayaan.. that's gonna infuriate Arjun on so many levels..

I didn't watch todays episode completely. But from yday episode I asked the same question like @harneet in Shruti post.

It was really confusing for me.. the same man wanted divorce & escape but suddenly he is talking some mature things.

May be like u said... It's inconsistent writing is the reason.

Ok, lol.

So now it is confirmed Arjun is psycho as well. 😆 He is ready to make his life hell and let Maya suffer because he cannot live without Maya's beyhadh love. Nice.

Saanjh will also become psycho in few days when she comes to know of Samay's plan. Then we can safely agree everyone is psycho in this show except Prem and Suman.

Maybe in this show evrything is twisted hence the twisted logic which otherwise is pretty illogical 😆

Also yes he truly believes that Maya is ill and her circumstances have made her the way she is and he wants her to get better (although doesn't want to take her to a psychiatrist😆).

But the day he finds out that Maya framed Ayaan and went to the extent of using Samay to inflict those wounds on her body and indeed broke Vandana's hand he will be shattered..after knowing this will his thinking change..will he still give Maya a chance..will he still love her..that remains to be seen.

I still wish the writing was more consistent and logical
