I remember watching this show's promos but never watched the serial.

It had quite a few Bollywood actors. This serial was hyped a lot as Karisma's entry to television but it's trps were low and it went off air.

It was the time when ekta's K soaps were gaining popularity. It didn't do well because it was boring. I had heard that the story was weak and apart from Karisma, none of the actors did good acting.

Yes, Sridevi's Malini Iyer lasted only a year on Sahara channel(also 2004), it aired twice a week

Sridevi once said she'll never do TV but ended up doing it anyway, later she said she didn't enjoy the experience

Sonali Bendre's soap didn't last long on Life OK, AB sr serial was short lived on SonyTV

Only BW star to find success on TV (in a fictional show, not as a judge or host) is Anil Kapoor maybe (his brother Sanjay Kapoor was in Karishmas's show) and Shabana Azmi bcz a I heard she was in "24" ( never seen it)

24 didnt do well in India.
