This happens all the time in India but what was different in this case was the foreign author coming to India and suing them. She lost the case and the serial was made as planned...

They were planning to make one of those shows that run forever (I think 'A Woman of Substance' has more than one sequels 😊)

But it flopped and short-lived 😛

Was this before Ekta's regressive take over of Indian television? Because the story sees far to progressive promoting working women as leads? Not to say that staying at home is bad but we normally dont get much variety in TV these beyond silly kitchen politics. Any case I dont get why a Bollywood star would do a serial but this seems to have quite a few bollywood actors.
