Personally, I don't find current Bong actors Bollywood material. I think Mithun was the only Bong actor who achieved the superstar status. Kishore Kumar, Biswajit, Joy Mukherjee, Rahul Bose achieved some success. Others like Priyanshu, Parambrata, Prosenjit couldn't make it.

Jishu Sengupta is doing some roles in BW movies. Rahul Bose also is a Bengali.

Its always been Punjabi Boys and South Indian girls ruling the roost in BW.Not just Bengal,we dont have many actors from UP/MP/Jharkand/Orissa/North East region either.

But there were some brilliant Bong actresses in BW like Konkana,Kajol,Rani,Jaya B in past.Not many right now.

Me as a Bong woman, I think our Ladies are prettier than our Men ...

and in Bw looks count first, everything else is secondary...

If it was on acting, There is a flood of excellent actors over here, but none with the charisma that ,say, a Shahrukh khan Or Akshay Kumar has...

Thinking about it Bollywood should be renamed to Punjuwood. Kapoors, Ajay, Akshay, Deols, Roshans, Varun, etc. are also Punjus.

Save for the Khans of course.

I suppose SRK's roots are Peshawar. Earlier generation was also same. Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Balraj Sahni (Pakistani Panjabis).

Bollywood is easier for Pakistani boys than South Indians or Bengalis.
