Didn't read the whole article ...too long ...but got a gist.
I tend to agree ...digital sound came and screwed the analogue LP's ...though not flawless, it had natural reproduction of sound...and now this.

May be I belong to the conservative school of thought when it comes to music.

exactly the main difference was in the early recording was that the song was fully dependent on the voice of singer but today its music and beats overshadow the voice

These are the problems ---

1) When pitch modifiers or whatever software is used - the natural 'touch' of voice is lost. It makes a lot of difference even if the song with digital effect sounds good.

2) I kind of disagree that Bollywood music is lost. Yes a lot of IDK contemporary tunes or 'music' has been brought in, but since 80s we've seen the influence of international music on bollywood - maybe on a miniscule level compared to now but there was an influence..

Actually, just yesterday I was thinking of how Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam film music always shell out a portion of film songs that reflect our culture - or have a distinct characteristic of their own(can't describe), but it seemed as if Bollywood mein that quality of what 'Bollywood' typically is - is lost.. It has imbibed so much of everything loosely, that it feels as if it's original character has gone - it has gone even though there are still songs that sound typical Bollywood. I am not supporting that every film song should be 'Bollywood' -like.. It's good to have variations... I can't really explain, lol. Anyway, there is still 'Bollywood' music in films, just that the music is garbage. Evolving and change is good, but it has to be good enough.

3) In the end, it's all about producing something of good quality, whether it's abstract music, techno, Bollywood, computer-generated(?) .. having said that, it's always better to keep a natural voice - even if it's besura, let it be - sounds better than fake modified voice... and more usage of classical instruments..
