If a certain character is wrong then to avenge that person, another character has to resort to wrong ways too. An eye for an eye is indeed making people in this show blind! Seems like writers are big-time sadists.

The provocation was drugging and abducting his brother.

Provocation doesn't justify crimes. Rapists can say that women wearing short clothes and roaming around alone at night is a provocation. Does that justify rape? Poverty can be a provocation to steal, does that justify theft? Ayaan was stupid today. Maya is no saint but that doesn't make Ayaan's action right.

You are the one who said

"He pulled her hair almost without any provocation.. Maya was just asking him to leave at that point.."

and I replied to that.

However this action of Ayan can still not be justified

i saw in another post u said this before i even watched the episode. and so i watched carefully that part and i don't know if i am right but think u are wrong. she was not really looking on her body bt i think she might have been looking at where she left the keys. i am not sure if i am right.

but how i saw that scene it was not actually her body that she was looking at. and + even be4 this he started touching and pulling her
