Durdhara was the Agramasi (I can clearly see a typo in my previous reply.) But she was never coronated as the Empress. Second the name Deodara and Niandrus both appear in few texts saying this was the name of CGM's Agramasi. Going by historical timeline it is assumed that it was Durdhara who was being addressed all the while. Also during CGM's reign, Magadh was being strengthen from within mostly. It was with Bindusara that expansion began and reached its peak with Asoka.

I have read Arian, he mentions that Sandrocrotus was a great king second only to Porus in India

But during Chandragupta's reign Magadh already covered nearly half of India, he had also extended his empire to Taxshila and Puru desh, only smaller provinces n Kalinga were not under his direct rule, so definitely Chandragupta did expand his empire

I think Harem is a Persian, Arabic word, probably Chandragupta had some other name

South India under Chandragupta Maurya was pretty much untouched and so was the North East. Well North East was technically under Maurya Empire under Asoka's rule and the rulers were allowed to maintain their monarchy. Yes CGM did expand his empire but that pales in comparison to what Asoka did. Yes he had a huge empire to maintain but mostly subservient rulers were placed at different stations.

The equivalent word for Harem is Antahpur. It was a complete city of its own with woman at the helm of everything.

It was a necessity to build such a large empire.

i don't know about how many women had come in to life of CGM but one thing u can't ignore that
still we have not enough trust worthy documents which can show real facts of CGM's life

second about which documents you are talking... they are also incomplete because most of documents had destroyed by attackers or by time... we have only incomplete some documents which are also translated from sanskrit to English and we also know when one language documents will convert in to other language than automatically many facts already will be changed ... like balmiki's ramayan and tulsidas's ramayan... like bhagvat geeta

i m not saying that CGM was a saint but still we have little information for saying anything about CGM with full of assurance

megasthenes and arthshastra both real books are lost means
Both books do not currently exist... we have only some documents on which historian rewrite them... about megasthenes u can't say anything with so much confidence... because it had fully disappeared buddy...

and rahi baat haram or ranivaas or antahpur ki then mostly ranivaas vahi hota tha jaha king rahata hain...😉

third durdhara kaun thi mostly historian tell that she was daughter of king of magadh and mother of bindusara...
one document which is related to buddha dharma in shrilanka and life of ashok say that
durdhara was cousin of CGM and mother of bindusara but historian say that it is not trustworthy enough because many facts which r related to ashoka and buddha dharama when it had come to shrilanka r not real...There are many differences between the real facts and facts of this book...

i don't know in reality how many time CGM had married and we have no proofs for it...
we only know that he had only two wives first queen durdhara second helena...
i have no problem with many wives of king because that time it was normal thing but har dusare king aur warrior ko devdaas banana... it is completely wrong

i only want to see every king ,queen or warrior who played a good role in making of our golden history is on sliver or tv screen with full of respect and dignity ... 😊

sabhi ko devdaas banana jaruri hain kya 😡

NOTE-> LAST THREE OR FOUR LINES ARE ONLY FOR OUR DEAR PRODUCERS AND DIRECTORS... 🤣

i m sorry if any one will get hurt because of my words...😳

I didn't say that Bindusar or Ashok didn't expand the empire, definitely they did, but saying that it was much more than CM, I am not sure as NE was never under complete control (it was more like a Satrap system), Ashoka did expand to South India and Kalinga, but CM started from 0 to reach around 50% of India, while Bindusar and Ashok only added the NE n regions of Andhra n Mysore, I agree that winning South India crossing Vindyachal was difficult still if we do some compairative analysis then it's less

Well I guess it's more about perceptions on which we consider a greater accomplishment

Thanks for telling about Antahpur, I didn't know about Harem like system in pre Muslim India
