Given the current suffocative environment, no person can think straight or clear. They can only run mad. A fearless break from Maya, will be very good for Arjun and his mental / emotional health.

For Arjun to help Maya, he needs to understand what all Maya has undergone in her life. The flashback clearly mentions that Arjun wanted to separate from Maya without making an effort to speak to her. He just wants an easy way.

I understand that freedom is everyone's birthright. Having said that, every right corresponds with responsibility & Arjun is very much irresponsible.
