Ranveer to play Kapil Dev in the film on 1983 World Cup?

A few months ago, an announcement was made that Phantom would be making a film based on the 1983 Cricket World Cup led by then team captain Kapil Dev, to be directed by Kabir Khan. However, no one has been signed as yet, to play any of the roles.

We're told that since Kabir Khan was busy with his film Tubelight featuring Salman Khan, he was exclusively focused on that film. But since the shooting of Tubelight is complete, the director has started working on the cast of this film.

The latest news from sources close to Kabir Khan is that he's keen on casting Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev. We're also told that the message has been conveyed to Ranveer Singh but the latter has not yet reverted. Watch this space!
