Oh I have been wanting them to be a pair, ever since... He first stopped her from seeing Avi at her residence, when they suspected Avi of being an ISI informant.

He's quite dishy in his own quiet way, sufficiently cynical to be covert and yet very caring (as we saw him on the plane with Naaz)... But more than that I loved the way he grabbed Shaira by both his hands and shoved her against the wall while trying to explain to her that she was interfering with his investigation on Avi, the very first time they met in her house...

I was like... haaaye!!! yeh dono ki jodi ek spin-off kahani ban sakti hai.
