Does Harry lose the ability to speak and understand Parsletongue now that his connection to Voldermort has ended.

I think that the explanation was that Vodermort was a part of him (seeing as Harry was a Horcrux) and that was the reason that he could understand snakes. Now that part no longer exists and now that there is longer a connection to Voldermort, does that mean that he has lost this ability????😕

No he doesn't have the ability anymore. According to this, when the Horcrux, the part of Voldemorts soul that made it possible for Harry to know parseltongue, got destroyed so did Harry's ability to speak with snakes.

Well seeing as he has known (in a sense) the language for seventeen years, it could be possible, if he put forth the effort, that he could relearn the language. Dumbledore can understand it but not speak it while Ron was able to learn a bit of what he heard Harry say. So if he tried he may be able to learn the language. It's not simply a hereditary trait.

Well, I did say if he put forth the effort, it could be possible. How one learns another language is basically by enunciating what they (whoever that speaks the language) say. I figure, if Harry tried hard enough (or anyone really) that he should be able to learn the basics. A year only with snakes should do it (like when people go living in another country with a different language and they know how to speak it within a few years).
As for Dumbledore, In chapter 17 "A Sluggish Memory" Dumbledore was able to understand what the Gaunts were saying when speaking in parseltoungue so I assume he is capable of understanding the language but not speaking it (or maybe he can, who knows).

at first I though he wud LOSE his ability to speak Parseltongue,
But now when I think abt it, I really dun understand how one can LOOSE his/her ability... 😕
see , we have agreed that it wasnt a innate ability of his...But at the same time, It wasnt Voldemort inside him who spoke in Parseltongue neither was it BCOZ of the Voldemort inside him that he can speak Parseltongue...
when Voldemort unintentionally left a teeny lil bit of his soul in Harry, at the time of ths transfer, a lil bit of his powers too go transfered to him...not intentionally either But it happened...
N hat gave him the ability of speak Parseltongue though he didnt know he cud...
Just bcoz the part of Voldy inside him is gone, It cannot possibly mean that Harry has lost an ABILITY or Skill of his...

Rowling wud be the best person to explain...I wish sumone wud put this Q to her...

I guess rowling is really the only person to tell us.

Personally I hope he still retains the ability, because even though the ability came to him because of his connection to Voldermort he has honed it himself so that he is now much better able to handle the ability than he was when he was younger.

Just my thought! 😳
