hello everyone !!!! i m new to the forum but has been following Indian idol on and off.I see that people are very harsh on revanth for his pronounciation on this forum.First of all he is very new to hindi langauage and we can clearly see he cant speak it but still he is trying to learn and sings soo well. They say right music has no language soo why is everyone not appreciating his efforts.People may compare him with Sreeram but he was a hyderabadi and hindi was common. But revanth recently shifted to hyderabad for his career and has never had opportunity to learn hindi.
Obviously pronunciation problem occurs when your not singing in your mother toungue. Its not only for revanth but for others too.I can point out that even legendary singers like ashaji, lata mangeshkar, diler paaji(mikas bro) etc who are established singers do blunders while singing in other languages. But still we ignore all those mistakes and appreciate them for their voice and talent.I am huge fan of shreya goshal voice and love all her telugu songs.I dont know about others but i m am soo proud of revanth for coming out of his comfort zone and trying in hindi music industry inspite of communication problem.I m soo amazed at his focus on his career and passion for music. He is very cute, sweet, clean hearted and ambitious young man.Love you revanth ❤️ Keep making telugites proud with your talent 🤗

Lol no one is being harsh, many just pointing out mistakes, after all he is a professional singer, so praises and criticism are common.

In fact all contestants received equal harshness. Starting from Manya to Malavika, some were said to be not connecting to audience despite their good singing. So it's all fair and square

All contestants in II has passion for music and ambitious too.

I'll speak for myself.

It's obvious on the forums that I'm one of his biggest fans. Inspite of that I've probably been extremely harsh - but that's what his performance that day deserved.

He butchered chappa chappa. Since day one he's had bad pronunciation, but no one pointed it out until last week. It's because it ruined his otherwise fantastic performance.

Yesterday inspite of his flaws, he was terrific. Yes there were errors, but not half as bad as last week. But since then it's been highlighted, only because we compare him to other South Indian singers.

Malvika and Shravan are from Tamilnadu, where Hindi isn't spoken (Andhra Pradesh is not so anti Hindi), but they are doing a much much better job. They make errors too but not as bad, or that it affects the singing.

Every singer has been criticised when the performance is not at par. Revanth for pronunciation (because he's so good at all else), Shravan for his not being able to sing varied genres, Rohit for forgetting lyrics and singing flat (saathiya), Malvika for shrieking and Manya for even being a contestant.

It's not fair to say Revanth is being singled out.

I'm voting for him, because he sings beautifully, it touches my heart. His performance is second to none. I know overtime his diction will become better if he works on it. But to some their ideal winner is someone who has already mastered everything.

Appreciate the differences.

I felt revanths pronounciation is way more scrutinized in this forum compared to others.I can see that he is trying very hard to overcome the problem and learn the langauage.I am not saying one cannot cricticize him obviosuly his singing will be judged as its a music show but we should also be understanding for some problems like language barrier. One can trash him for singing besura and a bad performance but i felt undermining his preformances because of pronounciation is unfair.

Yes AP is not soo anti AP like TN but it depends on individuas.Revanth clearly lacks knowledge of basic hindi.I too hope he learns the language soon and gets his diction right but he just started and it takes time to master anything.I was watching one of his interviews for hindi channel and poor boy was soo struggling to even frame a sentence Its really commendable that he is able to memorize and sing songs inspite of that.Soo when i see that his pronounciation is often crictized i feel bad for him.I felt his efforts are not being apprecated 😭

I too am a fan of Revanth. He performs like a rockstar. I wouldn't say anything about his pronunciation since I'm not an Indian so my diction too isn't that good. But,over all he's trying his best and I think he's improving.

I am sorry if I am hurting anyone here but I would like to say that nobody is harsh on Revanth here. Yes his pronunciation was pin pointed but as they say you expect something from someone who has power to give it. And almost everyone of us believe that he is a brilliant performer and if he works on his pronunciation then it will be like some pe suhaga.
P.S. Btw you just noticed him being pin pointed for his pronunciation but you didn't notice that he is the only contestant out of all 14 ib whose name a thread is opened. I guess he is very much loved in this forum and I really wish him all the best.

Everyone has a right to their opinions, dear! For some, being musically and melodically perfect maybe good enough, and for others pronunciation is equally important. I belong to the latter class and since this is a show for Hindi/Bollywood music, it is critical that the contestants be judged not only on their singing prowess but also how they say the words out loud. And there Revanth is the weakest of the lot. Shravan, Rohit and Maalavika are also from South India, but somehow I do not notice their diction being as bad as Revanth's (though he certainly has improved it this week). I like to be fair, and sometimes I have cringed when even my favorite singers and established ones sing in a language they're not comfortable with. Since this is a competition, its only fair that we expect the best from the contestants and in the overall criteria for judging, for me at least, the lyrics and how they sing them also matter. Perhaps they do not for some others, or perhaps they consider Revanth's singing to be so good, that it rises above the bad pronunciation. To each their own! And like, someone pointed out, you only noticed the brickbats, and ignored the looong thread that's dedicated to Revanth on this forum! He's the only contestant who has one! 😳

He is new to the language. Let us all cut him some slack and see how he improvises. :)
He has improved leaps and bounds compared to the earlier episodes.
