Okay so i finally saw Raees today and it was okay-ish. However what surprised me was Mahira. Judging by the trailers and the critics review i thought she was going to be completely disappointing. HOWEVER she was pretty good. She looked beautiful and acted pretty well.

So that brings me to my next point. Why this reaction by the critics and "certain" people here? Is it because they don't understand the subdued acting method? Is it because they don't like someone opposite their precious SRK?

Or maybe...just maybe is it because she is Pakistani? I would totally go with the latter. If that hack of a critic Anupama Chopra has trashed her that means something is fishy. Why don't people have the same reaction over someone like that awful Shraddha Kapoor. I would understand if critics trashed her too.

Anyways, i know what sort of people this post will attract but i had to get that off my chest.

people connect with extra ordinary talent, beauty and stunt. expecting newbie to score perfect 100 is difficult.

Her chemistry with SRK was really good

Her role was short but she shined in it

I have liked her in the TV dramas.. people say she is not that good and all but she is a mature actress in my eyes. Even in Raees songs, she is so good.

I'm starting to feel like acting and the appreciation of it may be subjective..

According to me she did her part as she was supposed to do neither as bad as people made her out to be nor something extra-ordinary . I didn't really believed critics or anyone else trashing her after watching her with SRK in the songs .

I know even I was surprised with the criticism. Saw the movie with partner and friends..they all liked her. Fine, it was a Trophy role ... but she did justice. Wished she had a more meaty role.

Mahira was fine in the movie, dont know why they trashed her..

She had very good chemistry with SRK

And she acted very well in those emotional scenes when Asiya is trying to reason with a furious Raees and also when hes leaving with the police at the end.

Critics who bashed her are just biased against her, thats all.
