- our KarShi (the best part about the show- redefined it and kept me asking for so much more of Ankush/Harbandana)
- KarVi (the few deep and emotional conversations we got was a treat to watch, wish the intimate scenes were cut shorter so we could've gotten more of those deep conversations between the two)
- Tai-Pyaare (I hated their over-dramatic scheming, unrealistic/unjustified evil doings- wanting to kill Kartik, Kushi and Survi, and the lack of Tai's ability to actually care for Kartik even after he kept forgiving her, caring for her and respecting her while giving away all of his hard earned wealth to her ๐) their comedic timing together was gold, and I loved their light-hearted moments- I love funny villains
- Barve siblings- both generations, the bond was interesting to watch and I would've loved to have seen much more, especially a light-hearted wedding sequence for Aniket ๐. I loved the respect and love younger/older Aniket and younger/older Shanti had for their Kartik Dada, and Kartik's ability to have fun with Bindu when teasing young Survi, and Hema's innocence that led her to finally see the wrong she was doing to Kartik and reforming to be a more trustworthy and caring sister... I even loved the bond between Kushi and Rohit and wished we could've seen more with Ria joining her gang despite her inheriting Tai evil ways ๐- I wish we had so much more Barve sibling scenes with some offscreen interviews of them too. Oh, and I can't forget Lata. who loved all her children equally despite not giving birth to Bindu, Hema and Aniket. The Barve family was so well constructed in the initial episodes- with so much potential, some being explored and others not so much- the new Dharmadhikari family was a poor choice of a replacement for the Barve family ๐คข
- Survi- she was such an endearing character, so mature and loving, whose playful and irritated side could only be tapped into by our Kartik Sitaram Barve. Young Survi played by Roshini Walia was a treat to watch- the way she slowly saw Kartik for he really was and fell deeply in love with him even though she wasn't even sure what love was at the tender age of 14 was very sweet, and I really wish we could've seen more of her as she tried to break away from Kartik's image of her being just a kid, while Kartik was unaware of her growing feeling towards him ๐ณ- the scenes we did get of this was well done, and so sweet- it captured the innocent yet mature love Survi was developing towards Kartik in a way that I truly saw it to be very different for an Indian TV show. Sonal: as Survi was a fitting choice and thought the way she carried herself as Survi and the writing around her character in the episodes before the KarVi wedding was well done- although I did find the mind voice of Survi to be a bit to fast, which took away from the emotions in the dialogue at times... The first time she left a mark for me was when the Survi we grew to love in the earlier episodes made its appearance in the scene where Kartik came into Lata's room, post doing the opposite of what she advised him on doing, trying to I guess talk her down and him up, and she completely ignored him- that was the KarVi I missed and wanted to see more of before Kartik started realizing his feeling for her... I also wanted to see Survi played by Sonal also want to shed this image of being a kid to Kartik and have him accept her as a woman, who he saw as a potential partner- the rush in this track, and the way they didn't explore the 10 year age gap further was one of my biggest disappointments- it was truly what I thought stood out in the show and made it different ๐ญ We could've seen so much more of Sonal and Ankush's acting capabilities if this was explored further ๐ณ
- Ankush/Kartik: Ankush truly was the ideal Kartik, he brought out that innocence in him that made him stand out and made him so endearing to watch, to the point we couldn't help but fall for him along with young Survi. What I loved about Ankush's portrayal of Kartik post the 8 and 7 year leap when he was written to be more sadistic and cold towards Survi was that I could still see the innocent Kartik having trouble trying to be bad ๐ the writing around it was good too- he just couldn't help but still love and care for Survi and her well-being despite his anger towards her... And then came Krishna, I loved him- and we really got to see him play someone who could easily be bought as a villain, with a heart ofcourse... I really loved seeing Krishna in the episodes he was present in... from the very first episode he made and entrance to the last scene- where he was in jail all confused and pissed really showed how great of an actor Ankush is ๐ I just wish we saw more of him- his evil doings had more of a justification than Tai's did ๐ Even when he left Kushi at the temple... the dialogue delivery was really well done... but a special mention has to be made to the writers of his character and arc- really one of the best parts of the show... I just wish they didn't rush it... I have no idea why they did, the trps were decent and they just had to have more of him sparring with KarVi... or more like Survi...maybe even develop feelings for her... I would've love to have seen that... it would have been a much better arc than Iccha, and I am sure it would have brought in more numbers... ๐ Finally, ankush playing a kid was just so lovely to watch and how KarVi's chemistry still remained, and seemed much stronger was so nice- I truly loved the way the writers wove in the Ram and Sita story into KarVi's new love story... and was really sad that the 15 year leap took away from it...- I am honestly surprised that the writers who made the initial episodes of YVR and laid out such a strong foundation for KarVi, and brought in a very strong character like Krishna and wrote the Ram/Sita arc to KarVi's love-story created such a superficial arc for Kushi, and did not invest in KarShi story more post the 15 year leap- and completely sidelined Kartik's character, despite the actor who played older Kartik to have been the best part of the show... and also rushed Kushi love-story making it way too superficial and a pain to see on screen- I did not watch YVR for teen romance, I watched it for the mature love story of KarVi- who would've been even more better if the 10 year age gap was addressed more (I will never let this go)...
