Why can't makers go beyond superstitions in Indian thrillers?

So the mystery/suspense in this show is entirely dependent on pandits, janam patris, abshaguns.
Why can't Indian shows go beyond all this and show some real suspense based purely on the plot/characters? Is Sony trying to appeal to the Nagin viewers type of audience here?

Hope not Sony serials are way better than crap dished out to us on other channels don't know how SSK or KB etc survive with pathetic tracks
Hope Sony keeps it like this little bit is ok coz unfortunately superstition is still there just that Sony does not promote but shows how wrong is it and how to fight it

Again today the makers used the lamp blowing out as being inauspicious. Really getting tired of the over-reliance on superstitions. Just stick to the story! The background music is enough to set the mood!

Basically, aadat se majboor. 😆 Also, given the characters backdrop, they probably think the audiences won't take the warnings seriously if they don't come as bad omens. This is partly true. Imagine, even when the warnings are so in your face kind, people have so much trouble seeing things as they're and accepting them then what would happen if they had chosen a subtle or different route to convey what they have to say? 😆

Guys horoscope, shagun apashagun are part of Indian culture. People do believe in these things. Even today Kundalis are matched for marriages. So what is harm in showing such things and then CVs of course can prove them wrong too.

I have an issue with it because the makers are relying on superstitions and little else in this show to create suspense.
It's been done to death on Indian TV, so I was hoping they would add mystery through the storyline/acting rather than apshaguns and pandits. The only hint of any mystery is the talk about Maya Ka sach. Never goes into any real suspense or intriguing storytelling/revelations other than superstitions and dramatic visuals/background music.
This show was supposed to be different but it's not really, barring the fact that the leading lady has shades of grey.
