Did that make sense?

I am enjoying the show but the lack of logic before the end of week one is a bit troubling.

How can someone just go and stand outside the gates of a very rich person and offer their child for marriage? Did she really expect that just because her daughter was a topper, they will agree for a marriage? Where is her swabhimaan??? Shouldn't she have asked the pandit to approach with the proposal as it is often done?

They could have easily skipped this stupidity and the insult drama by showing sujaan Singh visiting some temple in or near boondi and running into the mother, instead of the mother visiting a temple in Jaipur.

Well dear, sharda rejected the very first proposal for meghna cos the people owned a narrow mentality. So she looked for a household who would respect her daughter's achievements and don't look upon her as a mere showpiece in their house. She came across sujan singh's words and got impressed at the first place and decided to approach them for an alliance cos for her she thought that they own a rich status as well as a modern outlook.
She thought she might be allowed to put forward her proposal easily by listening to sujan's words, but it happened to be a different story and she wasn't allowed to even step in the house. First, she is simple middle class woman who doesn't know the norms of this rich households and only desire for her daughter's bright future. So for this she might have decided to bear a few hardships, but was determined to succeed cos she believed in her daughter's capabilities and considered her as the perfect for the chauhans.
And the confrontations was much needed to bring in a reality that such rich household only care for their status and not talent. She needed that reality check, and if you remember, she was shown regreting at her decision for going to the chauhans.
Well the confrontation between sujan and sharda can also be looked upon as an illogical one cos no one fixes an alliance one just one take without even making proper enquiries just getting impressed by her ideologies, but at the end we must remember that its a soap, which often lacks logic and is devoid of what is called a perfect reality. But as for me, the show is going good, and a few flaws and loopholes can be overlooked for the time being.
If we just keep on pesturing over silly bloopers then they will occupy our minds and we won't be able to enjoy even simpler scenes in future.

@Siya - A single woman raising 2 daughters cannot be as naive as you suggest. I, personally, do not think confrontation was needed for her to learn anything. She knew what she was walking into. Everyone around her knew what she was walking into.
I am enjoying the show too and I know how to ignore logic in shows. However, I find it fun to discuss these logic liberties that soaps tend to take. My intention was not to offend anyone.

well I am not at loggerheads with anyone here and your words surely doesn't offend anyone here, nor me as well
Dear, for me, when sharda was constantly being taunted by her own family, she felt a bit low at that point and doesn't want people to overlook their daughters capabilities. And when she heard sujaan, she felt a kind of positivity in him and his attitude and thought that they are the right persons to respect their daughter's talents. So, despite of knowing that she cannot uphold herself infront of the chauhans, she went ahead with a positive attitude and intention for finding a right place for her daughter's bright future. She hasn't expected such a behavior by the chauhans esp after listening to sujaan, and she was also shown regretting for the same.
Its isn't wrong if a mother desires for her daughters to get married in a rich family when she had gone through a tough phase in life to educate her daughters. So without thinking for a rational approach, she went ahead with the proposal to the chauhans. And for me that doesn't goes wrong. And the confrontation shows the different and shallow mentalities of the chauhans. Here NK is shown as a self-obsessed man who looks down everyone and is a bit over ambitious. Despite being a rich person, he doesn't got how to respect others lower than him, and ends up insulting sharda which wasn't expected by her in the first place. So for me that wasn't seemed so illogical as for you.
