Liked the Black wolves' names? I had trouble with the bomb guy... yes Laksh is more convoluted than his outer persona... I guess you may be right about cLiff hanger... so many FFs have been written... It's tough to be unique na? I'm surprised how you people write so many stories!

Again back with update, this time at late night. I'm going for a short holiday for two days. So didn't want to delay it . Will try reply to comments though!

CHAPTER 8



It was a relatively empty space amidst the dense forest, few feet away from the tents. Swara was seated on the carpet of grass...bushes of wildflowers were her cushions... stump of a tree was her headrest... her eyes had closed their doors... Pale moonlight was fighting for its right with the shadows to play on her face... her lips were moving ... letting fly her inner plights, on the wings made of ethereal melodies ...

Swara was lost... lost in turmoils... she couldn't decide which burden was heavier... burden of expectations or... burden of being a plaything in other's hand...

Sanskar was stunned hearing her alluring voice.. Her bare soul... her hidden plea... His eyes drank the intoxicating sight that pale illumination of moon had created on the petite delicate features of the forelorn crooning angel... with the benevolent assistance from wildflowers and greenery...

Swara recalled how Agni was relieved to see her okay, because she couldn't be replaced. How Ragini stated she would not hesitate to shoot when Swara's duty is over. How... Sanskar told he wanted her to live so that mission could be carried on...

The prayer was supposed to reach the heaven, but had found another haven on the earth too... who was rooted to the ground few feet away...

Ragini's heart was soothed, as Laksh mouthed few words of gratitude, Moreover his worry about impending doom of his father had lessened. They sat in Chief's room without any words. How much had she wished the lyrics flowing from far to turn true!

Music had ended, still Swara remained the same. Sanskar approached to her, placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Swara!" He spoke softly." It's past midnight. Come! Eat something and sleep. You look exhausted!"

Swara looked at him. Without uttering a word she got up and made her way to their tent.

Sanskar couldn't contemplate how to melt the ice queen( "Well, with a nymph's voice!" He thought) in front of him. Their dinnertime was painfully silent. She was near her sleeping bag when Sanskar spoked out in irritation,
"Arey stop it yaar! Say something! Aur Kitne samay chup rahogi? Please normal ho jao! Uss ek baat ki liye mera jaan logi Kya?"

That "jaan" word triggered Swara. She bitterly answered." Tumhara jaan? Main? Kaise?Jisko khud ki life ki koi value nehi, woh kisi aur ki ..."

He didn't let her complete, " Swara please! Maine aisa kab kaha? I was angry because you could've lost your life..."

"Tum nahi samjhoge!"Her voice was pained," Kabhi khel ki mohra baan ke dekha? Black wolves bhi khele...aur Tum bhi Sanskar...the Knight riding on white horse... " she ruefully smiled.

"Swara I'm really sorry! Main Laksh ki gussa tum par nikal di. I didn't mean it. Please Yaar!" He now held her hands.Swara turned her face, still not convinced," Tell me? Kya karu?... OK. You can give me any punishment. Kan pakdu? Uthak baithak karu? Yaa ek pair pe khadi ho jau?"

Swara couldn't be serious anymore! He was looking hilariously... cute!!! She smiled. "Jao! Iss bar maaf kiya! You don't have do anything! But seriously! Kaun kahega ki tum ... " She became serious again."Sanskar, yaar kaha na mujhe? Then don't be so casual about friendship. Mere friends mere liye bahut khaas hai. Woh Agni aur Ragini toh heartless, I don't expect anything from them.Par.." Swara stopped to breathe.

"Par?"

"When someone close to you say that you're not important, it hurts.."

Moments passed. Swasan were coming to terms of their peace treaty. Sanskar's eyes travelled to the marks on her neck, they had turned blue... His eyes flashed for a moment, then softly asked,
"Did you apply anything for those marks?"

" Nope." She replied, smiling slightly."Fursat nahi mila!"

" You are impossible, you know?" He rolled his eyes, then took out a painkiller spray from his personal medicine bag, came near her and ordered, " Let me see!"

Saying that, without any notice he tilted her face upward. Their eyes met for a moment. He applied the spray, a cool sensation spread on her nape... But all that prevailed was heat, emanating from their exchanged breathes... Cause their faces were mere inches away...

Three days had passed after that night. Chief's wounds were healing well. Swara still stayed most of the time in his room for checkup. But there was no more alienation.They had become free with each other after few minutes of awkwardness of that night.

Sanskar had usually been wandering around the camp, trying to get the psyche,persona and strength of the every black wolves. His happy-go-lucky image worked well in his favour. Most of the guys had let their guard down. They called him "Dr Romeo Oberoi"! Only Laksh gave him murderous looks when they met... Like Sanskar cared! The feelings were mutual!

Sanskar still got wary when that guy lurked near Swara to know about of Chief's health.Swara had assured him last night , seeing his anxiousness , " Relax Sanskar! You both will burn the camp someday by glaring. His dad is okay now. He's not going to strangle me anytime soon."

"He's a black wolf Swara! A bloody assassin! Uska kya bharosa? I'm telling you, stay as far as you can!" He looked clearly irritated at her nonchalant attitude.

She looked around and came closer," Well, chief is cured now. He won't need my service after tomorrow." her tone resembled as whispers, "We can go permanently far from here! Rathore saab, do you have any plan for that?" she looked excited

He murmured in her ears, "Arey, how could I forgot? Ohho, I'm very sorry! Tomorrow we'll ask Agni to release us,okay?"

" Ha aur woh sunenge?!"She hit his shoulders."Kuch bhi?"

"Kyu nehi sunenge? " He asked making the most innocent face. Then he leaned near her ears again and whispered, " But my so called honey wali Biwi, we're not leaving this camp anytime soon!"

Agni was roaring with laughter... Rest of the black wolves joined him.

"Mr and Would - be Mrs Oberoi! How did you became doctors with those pea sized brains? Or had you used all your smartness in treating patients? Didn't save anything for your own?"He mocked."Ever heard someone returning from Black wolves' camp?"

Sanskar seemed earnest, " But we saved the Chief! For the sake of gratitude, please let us leave. We'll not tell a thing to anybody."

Hades, a bald gigantic guy of 35,spoke out ," Gratitude? What's that? Never heard it's existence in our dictionary! You're too happy and nice people. I think both of you should go heaven!" Swara gasped.

Yudh who was besides him, put hand on Sanskar's shoulder. He had a cruel smile on his on his face, " We can do one favour Dr Romeo Oberoi! You can choose your ride to heaven if you want... "

" Agni! Laksh! Everyone! Bad news! " Pawan came running... " G-006, G-013, Ariel ... someone or some people attacked them last night. They were found unconscious near the spring!"
