I haven't watched the episode yet.. And your post gives a hint of what could have been the precap... Whether Dev likes it or not, looks like Ishu isn't liking the idea.. And just hoping she doesn't have a flashback for it.. And not make Sona haunted about a simple swing.. 😆

If we go by the precap and IF video then i think Dev may not have any issue with the swing because in precap & IF video Sona, Ishwari & GKB costumes are different & Sona is very calm that means IF video may be showing the events of the next day after bringing the swing. I feel this is only to add fuel to Ishwari's insecurity. Ishwari may think Dev doesn't like any change in his room but as he conveyed to Sona he may welcome this change which in-turn will make Ishwari burn.😊

For me the swing is same like them. One day they show major growth as characters and the next day they again goes back to their irritating version. Same like the swing.

Even though, I believe that there is some kind of history behind 'Dev & swings', and I am sure that in the next couple of episodes, we will definitely come to know the reason...

But, I believe that Dev will accept the changes, but also, starts to cherish them, after Sonakshi makes him come out of his past trauma, whatever that is... And, that will send Ishwari on another

While, I agree with all of you that swing looks out of place, at this moment, but considering a group of interior designers design each room, I am sure that the positioning of the swing will be placed at an appropriate position in the end... And, hence, the room which reminded of Dev will become the sanctuary for both Sonakshi and Dev...
