Is Aishwarya too beautiful to play serious deglam roles?

She did just 20 minutes extended cameo role in ADHM but it received better response from audience than her Jazbaa or Sarbjit.

Beauty doesn't play a factor for me to take an actor seriously. Their performance has to be convincing and powerful in the first place for it to then be able to convince me that they did full justice to the role. I should just be able to see the character and nothing of the actor; so to answer your question no it's more to do with the quality of the acting/film.
If people do feel her beauty is hindering her chances at being taken seriously as an actress then she can always do a role a la Charlize Theron in Monster with the help of prosthetics, so people might focus only on her acting and she can really stick it to them.

I dont think thats it. I think she needs a good director! I didnt find her performance in Jazbaa or Sarabjit to be "the worst ever"...but there were are a lot of sequences that could've delivered better.

She needs a good director and yes, she falls severely behind in terms of acting as far as I've seen. TBH, I have found her acting to be repulsive sometimes, and at such moments, even beauty doesn't help.

Dont agree

Ash did a deglam role in Raincoat and it was very well received .She almost won a national award for it.
All she needs is a good director and strong script.Then she can act well no matter what the role.
