Hotel Translyvania was all set to organise one of it's biggest Halloween event. There was much hustle and bustle in the ballroom.

"Qqquuuiieettt!", Screeched the Count D r a c u l a.

"(Ex) Ladies & Gentlemen, Halloween is round the corner and I've decided to organise the party..."

The door flapped open and a young man entered the hall

"...the Human way", he completed, baffled. The youth was taken aback as the monstrous audience blinked at him.

"Introducing J o n a t h a n - our party planner", he smiled and patted his back.

The human took to the stage and began the list of instructions to organise a "Perfect Halloween Party"

Haunt your House!!

Cheesecloth Lawn Ghosts

These may not look particularly spooky by day, but at night, with just a hint of back lighting and a breeze, these apparitions can send creepy-crawlies up many spines. They're a great way to set the tone for your haunted house outside.

Garage Door Victim

For those who like a little more gore than others. Stuff some clothes with straw or paper to create a mannequin, then splatter ketchup or red paint on the door. Definitely a haunting idea!

This is cuteness overload. The best thing about it is that it's quick and easy to do yourself. Concentrate on drawing attention to your eyes and you can achieve this by using false eyelashes or keep applying the mascara. Many people tend not to use eyelashes and prefer to let the mascara work their magic. Make the ears and your cheeks stand out with bronzer and don't be afraid to apply lots! Remember this isn't your daily look so it needs to look radically different.

Masqurade Make Up Mask

This is a gorgeous design made by makeup and rhinestones. Apply your usual daily makeup but slightly heavier. Use dark colours for your eyelids and purple for your lips. Then you can start to design your masquerade mask with eyeliner. Apply rhinestones using a false-lash adhesive.

Ours is the land of devis, devtas, daakus and daayans. We prefer snakes and especially sexy makeshift-human snakes over paper white ghosts and pumpkins with creepy smiles. The West doesn't do it like we do. We will now attempt to celebrate Halloween with a pinch of g a r a m m a s a l a. Also, let us be honest, we do not find Halloween scary as such. So, we will make it gory and creepy and fearsome enough to our taste.

1. Werewolves are bland, we like icchaadhaari nevlas:

Rajat Tokas played the role of a m o n g o o s e in Naagin S1 (yes, there's a second season because Incredible India) and he had legit nail extensions that were ombre yellow and rusty brown. So, thing is, here in India, we pay attention to detail and make our scary creatures eat c h e e s e. The West can take their howling w e r e w o l v e s home and teach them some of our tricks, okay?

2. Zombie brides are cute; we want Shesha with sunehre laal baal:

We don't get our kicks from zombie brides, wearing archaic ivory wedding gowns, their cheeks sunken like B a b a R a m d e v ' s belly. No, Sir! We prefer S h e s h a from Naagin (again) - her amazing black uniform that glitters all the time, the spicy, high intensity expressions on her face - that, my friends, is bad-ass and goose-bumpy.

3. Dean Winchester's had a vampire friend, we have S i m a r:

Yes, yes, we do. We have S i m a r. We have Patali Devi, the pits of hell and an entire kingdom of macchars, makkhis and other insects to give us sleepless nights. The West may have a few gory shows, but we have 3000 episodes of Sasural Simar Ka. I rest my case.

4. If dress-up is the essence of Halloween, we do it all the time:

Ishita wakes up from a steamy (or not steamy) night just as she'd slept - with her sari all tucked and her makeup, top-notch. We eat, drink and sleep dress-up. Sudha Chandran pioneered the 100 Layer Makeup Challenge, alright?

5. You have nothing because we have Gopi Bahu's mother-in-law:

We have K o k i l a P a r a g M o d i, have had her since the beginning of time. You keep your Salvatores and Originals and almighty Satan, we keep K o k i l a b e n. With her, no Halloween is dull. Without her, there's practically no horror in India. She is so goddamn, insanely intimidating that even the MNS are wary of her.
