I dunno why people expected "real life"to be any different from "saas bahu serials", because for many life is exactly like that. I just wished that they balanced out the drama with a positive outlook and show how differences are settled in a mature manner at the end of the day.

Because if we have to watch our favourite TV escape of 20 minutes, just to experience our own yucky life feelings there also... makes one feel like they'd rather not.😆

Thanks for the follow up. Just read your replies to other's comments. Agree with each and every word that you said. There is a practical approach that is needed to get out of this Kitchen politics which ofcourse is not arguing and shouting from the roofs. The way you dealt with your in laws worked for me even. I know your tips will certainly bring peace and harmony at home and I can admit those tips are mine also.
My expectation from the promos is that Dev and Sona together facing Iswari's reluctance and trying to find out solutions,Sona still being the nutritionist for Iswari. I did not expect Iswari getting them married and the usual Saas Bahu things happening in a predictable way.

Elders - Who do we call as elders here? Just because they are elder in age or in experience or in values or in behavior?

What is the arena here? Professional or Personal? Is it about your intelligence quotient or about your emotional quotient? If it's professional arena then never one brings in the age factor to give respect.. If you are being evaluated for your intelligence and you think you have an idea that works like a charm, then you never bother what is the age of your team member.. All that matters is put forth the point without being possessive about your own idea... Make it a discussion and not an argument and work towards getting it done as a team... And if it is about emotional connect then there is no question about being interrogated... The respect should not be demanded it's gotta come automatically with the character that they portray... Why will I respect someone just because he/she is elder to me but all her/his actions are very very inferior to the age...

And if Ishu is teaching me to lie and deceive why will I respect her for these values when these are clashing with mine?

I am all for truth and honesty, don't get me wrong.

But when it comes to ego, especially of older people, one's righteousness will not feel like a great victory. You win some you lose some.

Believe me if I could do over my marriage, I wouldn't get married at all!! 🤣

Dev and Sona will get there, I'm sure. It's all new, and you learn as you go,no?

If u had seen properly den ishwari directly told sona dat she does nt want anybody to question her son's choice. Her son has always d best choice be it something or someone. In dis case sona is his choice. And we all kno wht a maal dis bua dadi is. She is a vry orthodox typical rasm follower types. And ishwari knows dis vry well. Dats y she asked sona to keep away. She helped sona so dat her son remains at no faults. And in d segments also she clearly stated dat. I m also against kitchen politics. Bt dis show is realistic till now. And trust me dis show wont turn into a saas bahu saga no matter wht happens. Be positive and sit back and watch d episodes with positivity. Misunderstandings happen in evry relationship. Dat has to be dealt wisely.
Entirely my pov and did nt meant to hurt anyone

Friends, this is a saas bahu serial.

From the start. A guy, a girl, her future saas.

Sad to admit this, but above statement feels true now. Yesterday was the first episode ever which I could not stomach fully, 😕😕 I switched channels in between. It was such a strong sense of loss in my mind, 'what am I gonna watch now!!' kind of feeling.

May be the show will get back to its original glory, and I am hopeful for such a turn around, but dunno until when this pattern will continue. It was the only show I was watching and the only show I would switch on the TV for. Even if they are showing some reality, and these things are real, I do not deny them, but Its like any other show being shown in the TV then. Even if it is real, there is no fun in watching regressive stuff, if reality is shown with healthy dose of positivity and lessons for progressive mentality, then only regressive scenes remain watch worthy - as they would stand in stark contrast with good and modern things. Not to say traditional is bad, but to say that regressive is bad. 😛

No amount of chemistry between leads is enough for me if I get ridiculous dose of old school TRP crap. And mind you, these things do happen in different degrees in different homes, but can't we have a show that shows a new world which has come out of such sense-less, female demeaning business, even as they struggle to become better and understand life on better terms.😊

Considering that it is only my second post on the forum, I might be termed a little too cynical and too negative for such initial posts, but yesterday made me sad, for all the females in the show, thereby all the females who go through such scenarios, and for the show that I like for last so many months. I really want to keep watching the show, I hope they make it worthy enough of my watch from hereon.😕😕

BDW - Hi to all 😳😳

I agree on the principle that deception is the root of more problems. But see, Dadi Bua knows Sona cannot cook. But she gave her a difficult list of dishes to prepare, one that even rattled Ishwari. Her intention was to defeat Sona and bring her to heel in the Great Realm of Kitchen and Domestic Affairs.

She spoke proudly of her education and her earning, to put GKB down for being mean. But she unintentionally made the lesser educated in the house feel lowly and sneer to use their strengths to cause her trouble. It's subtle, but it happens.

My in laws are doctors, and they subjected me to an interrogation of my area of expertise, FIL read some old journals and tried to question my research by his antiquated understanding. But the issue here was not that I knew better than him/her but that I must be respectful of my elders. Once i understood that, there wasn't a fight anymore.

The issue in yesterday's epi is that the women in the Dixit house are not trying to do these rasams to make Sonakshi feel accepted or at home. But to teach her that she is very low in the pecking order hierarchy, and shouldn't do as she pleased just because she is better educated with her fancy notions of equality, self respect and independence.

Sonakshi should survive this occasion, not try to change them now. There are better opportunities for her to change things later. It's only been a day.

Will hop over to your thread soon 😉

Sorry I beg to differ on this.
By expressing her inability to cook the elaborate menu items, Sona would not have shown any disrespect to the elderly.
She had to survive the occasion, so accept part of the challenge - by preparing 1 simple dish! When GKB said that she doesn't know how to cook, Sona could have agreed with her and said that I will try my best to prepare something you will like and rest I will learn eventually.
This way she would have tackled them all in one go - with tact, not being overwhelmed or having to lie or falling prey to Ishwari's deceiving ways.
Right now, she is trapped where one lie will lead to another and may cause her huge embarrassment - and even if Ishwari was genuinely trying to help, eventually her efforts will also go in vain when the reality is different.

agree wid u ..
although ishwari's reason was to safeguard her son's respect and she said it loud n clear but she did help sona ...
like u i too feel ishwari is not liking bua dadi's presence now ...over d years ishwari has been holding d reigns n getting queen/godly treatment ...n saas like bua can never make deir bahus princess let alone queen ...
frm my personal experience difficult mil's need to b handled tactfully ...even of dey r wrong u just cant insult dem ...n sona needs some lessons on dealing wid mil be it ishwari gkb or dadi ...coz d sort of mil she has seen whole her life is rare

I agree with you.. I am not at all asking for throwing one's own character onto the other's face in the intention to hurt their ego.. Healthy disagreement should happen.. Which is a big miss between Dev-Ish.. And if Sona takes the same path then doomed will be The Dixits' taking everyone down with them... Let her make mistakes.. That's what the value she carries from Bose family.. Why make her cover up in the name of image creation which has been the traits of The Dixits'.. Sona can learn it too.. But allow her to make her own mistakes.. And be there to support when she bounce back and not blame it then.. The pressure what Ishu has been applying on Dev is now being applied on Sona.. 🥱
