THIS!!!

It is all about business......Audience doesn't care about nepo or outsider......they go watch the movies that they like.....

Producers care about nepos a few times....may be out of obligation, friendship etc....but no one would put their money on the nepo after they realize that audience doesn't like them...

I don't understand this nepo nepo ka jaap....smiley36

While I somewhat agree with his words, that it’s business at the end of the day, but over time, my feelings about nepotism have kinda changed. Earlier the kind of hatred most of the starkids received and the strong reactions this word invoked, used to make me sympathise with the people receiving the brunt of it. But seeing the abysmal state of BW right now, and the kind of actors and actresses we see everywhere, mostly these annoying nepo brats, makes me second guess my opinions. While Nepotism has always been rampant in the industry, but at least earlier we used to have some talented nepos, who somewhat believed in working hard to achieve the success, fame and recognition, I think the audience doesn’t have a problem if you are talented enough as an actor, even if you are a privileged nepo product, but most of these actors are being shoved down our throats, most of them keep on getting chances after chances, why? Because of their connections, at least to a degree. What I find infuriating is that a talented outsider might not receive the same chance or opportunity in his or her lifetime which some of these starkids receive as soon as they step in the industry, and don’t even get me started on their “struggles”. Poori film industry kuch influential logo ne apne khandaan ki jagir si bana rakhi hai, jis mei thode bahot talented outsiders kisi tarah struggle karke apne liye success achieve kar hi lete hain, but the kind of environment which brews, makes me wonder how truly difficult an outsider finds it to make proper networks, even bag a small role after giving hours of auditions, while the producer deems it “fit or profitable” to instead cast a talentless hack who has an influential blood relative in the industry and they are given chances after chances before the audience either accepts them or completely rejects them.

The thing is on the surface level all this looks very simple. But it’s not.Its def not as simple.

And Kritika Kamra has beautifully countered the whole debate on nepotism. The issue is them getting so many chances..the audience have to endure them for 10-15 movies(inspite of them all flopping). They try their level best to push them down our throat. So no it’s not about business.

Wrong, he is talking from a very privileged position and is not really understanding how nepotism is ruining the Bollywood. Yes everyone from bollywood doesnt get same amount of opportunities or chances but they still have connections to show their talent. People like him and Jahnvi keep getting opportunities after opportunities just becaUse of their name. If Bollywood would stop trying to make quick money from their legacy and actually invest in real talent, we would have some amazing actors.

Nepos have connections and money to make their profiles , they literally get shoved down peoples throat with their social media and paps pictures everywhere and then say they are in demand.

in 90s, Salman, Amir , Hrithik..all of these people came showed their talent and stayed. We also had akshay, sunil shetty and srk who came and conquered. Now they dont give outsiders room to grow or make mistakes.

Since social media and PR services, everything is ruthless and outsiders dont have same support in beginning to be that cut throat. Once they learn the game like Deepika did or Kartik did, then the negative campaign starts against them.
