Does they even exist?
Yes many female-oriented films have worked in the last couple of years, but thats cuz of the CONTENT, not so much because of the "actress".
The same Kangana who had a Queen...also had Katti Batti after...and The same Vidya who did Kahaani...had a Bobby Jasoos after as well. So...are they real stars? Or was it the script?
And then we have the iconic Madhuri...whose every comeback flopped - Aaja Nachle, Dedh Ishqiya, Gulab Gang...all failures...But isnt she supposed to the biggest female star EVER?
and then we have India's supposed "biggest" star...Aishwarya Rai...whose comeback films also flopped Jazbaa and Sarabjit...and not sure if ADHM will do anything for her.
And the latest victim is Katrina Kaif...she has always been referred to as India's biggest female superstar...with no flops and huge blockbusters to her name...She's even given hits with actors who are mostly flop actors...like John Abraham, Imran Khan, Ranbir Kapoor (he wasnt a big star in APKGK),
But then something happened and she crashed - Phantom, Fitoor and Baar Baar Dekho - big washouts.
So my main point is...do we really have female stars?...Because with male superstars they can still do crappy work and still make their films hits...whereas with actresses its a different story. One flop and their whole existence is questioned 😕
