So movies like pink are appreciated bcz it exposes patriarchal mindset n raises some burning questions on guys/society mindset towards girls ..
Then when movies lyk Pyaar ka punchnaama came same critics thrashed it for misogynist attitude, while it just did it in funny manner while pink is all serious.
Why these double standard mindset? They said they pkp director is generalising girls ?? isnt pink generalised rich guys n society?? That every rich guy is awara n try to molest girls even if they jst talked wd him in friendly manner.. Are not there good rich guys?? or we are too emotional when it comes to women empowerment?

Very good post Pallo !!
I guess we forget that there are many boys who get harassed by girls !!
But percentage of brat boys is much much more than other way round. So we tend to give benefit of doubt to girls .

Pink is talking about something that is very widespread in society. Women, belonging to any strata face a lot of challenges and discrimination. That mindset needs to be changed and Pink was trying to drag he majority of people out of the dark ages.

PKP- If people would have actually had such a problem with it, it wouldn't have been such a big hit. If you see the female versions of the PKP speech by Kartik Tiwari, you will see so many hate comments from guys- abusing those girls 'cause their ego was hurt. I see many girls who laughed at the PKP speech and many who went to watch it and enjoyed it, but not many guys who laughed at the female version of it.

In fact, Akash Vaani which is by the same director that talked about the problems women face was a big dud. Very few people have watched it.

There are some women who are opportunists but the no. of women who get abused and harassed is just way too high. Men also object to being generalized. But you know women facing problems is just so big of a valid issue that everything else pales in comparison.

Didn't watch Pink yet so no idea about how guys have been portrayed.

Movies tell a story and revolves around characters . Pink was story about 3 Rich Delhi boys. Sadly we generalize it to all rich Delhi boys . Maybe 1% aren't like that 😆 . It's a widespread problem, specially in Delhi.
A lot of false cases of moleststion are also filed , as you said . This will weaken cases of actual moleststion . It's a bad trend . A few greedy girls will end up painting all women as frauds.
PS - I am super lazy to type names...so Pallo . Glad you like it 😊

The case is that women issues in our country is way to high compared to male issues. Rape, harassment and abuses that women face aren't quite faced by men and hence even people wouldn't relate to the male version so much as I too haven't witnessed many males who have faced such torture. Males are physically stronger that women and hence when women are opportunists and try to harm males, males who are opportunists go about and taken harsh steps against women which is terrible.

Also, due to women also being bad in some cases, the real ones too suffer and are considered opportunists and characterless. This is mostly shown in Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India.

m sorry but if a thing is not in abudance that does not mean it is worth ignoring. N why males are physically stronger so they should bear everything n should be generalized like in pink movie? I mean thn y we talk about gender equality whn one gender is physically strong? and btw its not rare,

I'm sorry, but how has Pink generalised all men to be a certain way?

The hero for the girls is a man- Deepak Sehgal. They show other supportive male characters like Meenal's father, rational characters like the Sessions judge and others.

I don't know why Pink is being blamed. You compared it to PKP and I have watched PKP1 where ALL the girlfriends are portrayed as being manipulative and heartless. No positive representations of lead female characters. 😕
