We see such male harassment scenes shown mostly in comedy movies and I don't say that they should be ignored but since the cases are rare, they unfortunately get ignored but shows like Crime Patrol do show such cases.

As per some websites, there were about 3k male harassment cases vs 34k female harassment cases in 2015.

Saying there is poverty in society=! all people are poor.

Priyadarshini Mattoo, Jessica Lal have all been victims of people too drunk on power. It's a problem. In this particular story, they didn't have guy friends, because the story was about the three girls and how they're helped out by Deepak Sehgal.

I think the fact that Deepak Sehgal was shown as such a strong and upstanding character is evidence enough that it didn't generalise all men.

Also, there are men like Rajvir Singh and his friends in society and I see nothing wrong with representing them as they are.

Would you say Rang De Basanti generalized all politicians to be corrupt and cruel? No. They were depicting a problem that has become rampant in society and that's what Pink depicted as well.

huh?!!! where did pink generalize?mention even one dialogue or one scene where the generalization was implied or expressed...and many well connected people do exploit others because they think they will get away with anything(and they do!)
rajveer and his friends did try to molest the girls...it wasn't just limited to friendly behaviour or even harmless flirting.

on the other hand pyaar ka punchanama DID generalize...'girls do this' 'girls do that' 'they are like this' 'they are like that'
did we ever hear sentences like these in pink? 'rich and powerful men are all like this or like that'...did we?No,we didn't.
Where is the generalization in pink?

shit like pkp should not be compared to pink in the first place.

Pink is not generalising anybody.
Don't know about villages and rural parts but yes in the urban cities not all but many many boys/men think that girls who parties, smokes, drinks or has boys as friends is a s**t. I have seen this happen to my own friend be it in school, college or at her work place. The same guys/men would have yesterday come out after watching Pink and would have praised it to the sky, the concept, direction, acting everything. Most of them may not molest/rape but they surely will talk and think all kinds of things about girls.

PKP was something different.

You should read this and then maybe you will understand the ways boys can break girls. And keep in mind that she was 12, and so were her "boyfriend" and his friends.
And then if you can stomach it, read the responses. See how many untold stories there are. Educate yourself.

Only answer to ur query is that Pink hasn't *generalized* all rich men ---- there isn't one dialogue in the movie that says *all rich men are bad or stay away from rich men or punish them all* ---- Pink is a movie on three girls who got wronged at the hands of few boys who had a connection with influencial people of Delhi --- no where in the movie it has been extended to *all* rich men or boys --!!!!!
on the other hand in PKP 1&2 the monologue talks of *all* girlfriends or spouse or wives or women in general* ---- that in itself answers ur dilemma --- if the boys kept their outburst restricted to their girls friends only it wouldn't have been an issue --- but they did go & *generalized* ---!!!!!
if i am wrong correct me --!!!
plus what *clarity* said of the drastic reactions of a lot of boys/men on YT when a girl did same as pkp in her video ---!!
have observed a lot of girls have it in them to laugh along movies like PKP but when the same is made on men, they have hard time doing so --- *rest carry on*

Okay to answer your query, PINK is not saying that rich men get drunk and abuse women in general. However, it does have a character or two who have the background of being rich. That does not mean that EVERY rich man is an abusive person, it only applies to the person in the story. We have had real cases where this was very much the situation as someone pointed out. It does not mean that we all think that every rich man is bad. The same goes for the girls, we have women who are abused by men and we also have women who abuse other women verbally and physically. It shows that women are no saints either.

When it comes to why we don't raise our voices against men who are raped or abuse, it is because the sheer numbers outweigh the men being abused to women. The problem is also that if we start protesting or endorsing the brutality towards men, there will be an uprise of men who will use this with wrong intentions. They may get away hiding behind this movement making it more difficult for women to get justice. There is more awareness compared to before regarding men but things need to be dealt with one at a time.

Another issue that I saw was in the movie Main Aisa Hi Hoon. Where they addressed custody. It is incredibly difficult for men to get custody of their children despite proving to be the better parent compared to their spouse. So there are many things that need to be improved for both genders where abuse, stereotypes etc are concerned. But nothing in PINK has been such that it puts down ALL men.
