Did you saw the episode today? Good. I hope now my yesterday's post makes sense.
So many people hurt, so much heartache due to lack of honesty.
Honesty to self, honesty to people you love and care about and most importantly honesty to the person you love the most.
Ishwari - She needed the double doze of reality from her brother and Dev to wake up. I just wish they had opened their mouth few weeks ago. But of course, she can still make Sona's life difficult because while she can mouth off on Sona, her daughters and Radha (What an example of respect for other women), she doesn't even peep in front of the men. Although she only mouths off on Radha when she says anything regarding Dev that she doesn't want to hear, but when Radha verbally insults Sona, she keeps silent so that she can heap abuse on Sona without ever getting accused of abuse.
Dev - Utterly confused little boy who never understood any relationship other than his mother. He had sisters and he took care of them, but he could not even reach out to them. He loved Sonakshi but could not completely rely on her as a partner to help him through the murky relationship he shares with his mother. When you clutch onto one anchor and that anchor pulls away, you are left floundering. Dev needs Sona more than Sona would ever need Dev.
Dev thought that if he just cut off his breath (Sona), he can survive under water (Ishwari). But he soon realised that he has evolved since only water was enough for him. The result was him drowning and trying to suck as much air as possible into his lungs every chance he got.
Sona - Another confused soul. If I were her, I'd have took a job in another city and move away until I heal. But she decided to dangle temptation in front of her nose. It's like an recovering alcoholic deliberately walking into a bar to see how long he/she can resist knowing well that he/she has been sneaking occasional sips.
Today she just could not resist tempting fate.
Bose Family - They unfortunately believed what Sona said but not what Sona was expressing through her behaviour. But it's not their fault. No one is psychic here who has to find out what another person is feeling inside if they refuse to tell the truth. Although Asha tried many times. So their insult was not their fault. It was entirely Sona's fault which she understood.
Ritwik's Family - Their upset is justifiable and rightfully so. When they got upset by the newspaper, Sona said her past is impacting her present. But what she should have said that her present is impacting her future. So she should have fixed her present before stepping into the future. It was not their fault that they got stuck with the raw deal although Ritwik must share part of the blame for today's fiasco.
Ritwik - Honestly, this guy is textbook perfect. He didn't leave until he had a chance to talk to Sona regardless of family pressure. How awesome is that? Finally a man who is a real man and not a little boy. He would have happily stayed friends with Sona and if you ask me, she needed a friend like him right now to tell the unvarnished, unbiased truth. But she ruined it by trying to force this relationship into something else. The result is bitterness between two families and loss of a genuinely good friend.
Today there were a lot of casualties and they were all result of lack of honesty... Today finally Sona faced the truth, but it was a bit too late. I just can't help but wish if only...
